Wrong again, as per the Bible...

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. Roamns 1:18-32

Greek Orthodox Metropolitan of Messinia: Homosexuals are God’s Creation; The Church Doesn’t Reject People

Non-Christians have to borrow from the Christian World View in order to attempt to make any rational sense...

A non-Christian worldview cannot account for or justify the laws of logic while the Christian worldview can.

Below is a link to a great debate that is worth listening to by anyone who wants a better insight into the mind of God. We see the outpouring of His thought process in the presence of logic throughout creation.

Dr. Greg Bahnsen does a great job in defending his world view and we can all learn a thing or two from taking the time to hear this debate in it's entirety.

Dr. Gordon Stein (Athiest) vs Dr Greg Bahnsen (Jesus follower)

This is not as long and uses a snippet from the above debate as well as other clips.

Who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance…  Matthew 3:7-8 (See also Luke 3:7-8)

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. John 3:36

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness… Romans 1:18

But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; Who will render to every man according to his deeds: To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: For there is no respect of persons with God. Romans 2:5-11

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. Romans 5:8-9

Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Ephesians 5:6

Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. Colossians 3:5-7

… ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come. 1 Thessalonians 1:9-10

Yes, even God’s former chosen ones have wrath in store for them for their evil deeds regarding their attempts to suppress the furtherance of God’s Kingdom:
For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews: Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men: Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost. 1 Thessalonians 2:14-16

And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand? Revelation 6:15-17

And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God, Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned. And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth. Revelation 11:16-18

And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.  Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them. And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle. And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe. And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped. And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle. And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe. And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs. Revelation 14:9-20

And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvellous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God… And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, who liveth for ever and ever. Revelation 15:1 and 6

And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done. And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great. And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath. And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great. Revelation 16:17-21

And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies [which were] in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. Revelation 19:11-16

Do not be fooled. The Wrath of God which is to come upon this earth is not that Great Tribulation that is spoken of by the prophets in scripture. The Wrath of God will come upon those who remain in rebellion against God in the last day. The Great Tribulation is the Anti-Christ and the world coming up against and killing those who serve the Lamb.

Are you ready for the wrath to come? No one will be if they are not sincerely and fully submitted to the Lamb, Jesus Christ. For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

Mormon Secrets: What the Missionaries Don't Tell

There is not enough respect towards those who are older than us these days...

Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honour the face of the old man, and fear thy God: I am the LORD.  Leviticus 19:32

Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. Exodus 20:12

Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. 1 Peter 5:5

Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. Ephesians 6:1-3

Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father; and the younger men as brethren; The elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity.  1 Timothy 5:1-2

But all the while the elderly need to lead by good example:

But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience. The aged women likewise, that [they be] in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,  [To be] discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. Titus 2:1-5

The hoary head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness.  Proverbs 16:31

Regardless of how the elderly behave though there is no Biblical justification to not render unto the elderly the honour that God demands that we give to them and that we do so with all sincerity of heart.

The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the gray head. Proverbs 20:29

How do we determine age?

How do we determine age?

It is impossible to prove anything without God

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. Psalm 14:1

"The transcendental proof for God's existence is that without Him it is impossible to prove anything." Dr. Greg Bahnsen

For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: [17] And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. [18] And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. [19] For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; [20] And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say , whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. [21] And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled [22] In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight. His Death was unlike any other…God certainly did so love the world!

Some may say that there have been martyrs for many causes even ungodly ones so what separates Jesus’ death from any other?  In fact many people have been crucified to death as well, some even upside down.

So what makes Jesus’ death so special? Jesus not only bled and died upon that cross but He carried all of our guilt and shame, all of our sins, on that cross. This is a burden unlike any man has ever had to bear or ever will bear.

Just imagine the most intense pressure you have ever felt upon your conscience for any sin you may have done and consider the guilt and shame that you bore as the result. Your burdens were essentially shifted onto his back upon that cross along with every other person’s burdens that has ever lived and ever will live.

He bore so much shame that it literally broke, no it crushed, His heart upon that cross.

Take into consideration that estimates of how many people that have ever lived on earth vary considerably. Some estimate upwards to around 100,000,000,000 souls. Whatever the count you can be assured that it was a lot.

Then you can only try to imagine what it was like for Jesus upon that cross some two thousand or so years ago. One thing for certain, it was more than I could ever bear as I could barely carry my own shame until I surrendered it to Him.

But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed…Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. Isaiah 53:5, 10-11

And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for [the sins of] the whole world. 1 John 2:2

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Somethings just need to be repeated...

I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. Luke 13:3 KJV

I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. Luke 13:5 KJV

When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. [19] Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul. [20] Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand. [21] Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man , that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul. Ezekiel 3:18-21 KJV

When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man , thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. [9] Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul. [10] Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel; Thus ye speak, saying, If our transgressions and our sins be upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live? [11] Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God , I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel? [12] Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth. [13] When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it. [14] Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right; [15] If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die. [16] None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live. Ezekiel 33:8-16 KJV

On Christ the Solid Rock I Stand

Things have become so diluted today it is important to start with the scriptures first as the foundation of what is true.

This must be done without compromise.

Then one would consider all other information in the world in light of  that.

Today's Christians tend to have that backwards as did I for many years.

It is very liberating to have solid ground to stand on.

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Psalm 119:105

He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. Luke 6:48

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.

When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.

His oath, His covenant, His blood
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.

When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
Dressed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.

On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

Micah 5:2 - How to Dishonor the Lord Jesus Christ - By Will Kinney

A teaching video of this verse can now be heard on Youtube. You can listen to it here -

How to Dishonor the Lord Jesus Christ in Micah 5:2

Some modern versions undermine and attack the eternal deity of the only begotten Son of God. Can you prove from the King James Bible that the Lord Jesus Christ had a beginning or an origin? No. Can you prove from the NIV, RSV, ESV 2001 edition,  Holman Standard, modern Catholic bibles or the Jehovah Witness versions that He had an origin? Yes.

Micah 5:2 KJB -"But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; WHOSE GOINGS FORTH have been of old, FROM EVERLASTING."

Micah 5:2 NIV, ESV 2001 edition, RSV - "But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose ORIGINS are from of old, FROM ANCIENT TIMES."

Dan Wallace’s NET version - “As for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, seemingly insignificant among the clans of Judah – from you a king will emerge who will rule over Israel on my behalf, one whose ORIGINS are IN THE DISTANT PAST.”

John Gill comments on the traditional, Trinitarian exposition of this verse and the meaning of the phrase "whose goings forth have been...from everlasting."

John Gill - "whose goings forth have been of old, from everlasting; which is said of him, not because his extraction was from David, who lived many ages before him; for admitting he was "in him, in his loins," as to his human nature, so long ago, yet his "goings forth" were not from thence: nor because he was prophesied of and promised very early, as he was from the beginning of the world; but neither a prophecy nor promise of him can be called his "going forth"; which was only foretold and spoken of, but not in actual being; nor because it was decreed from eternity that he should come forth from Bethlehem, or be born there in time; for this is saying no more than what might be said of everyone that was to be born in Bethlehem, and was born there: nor is this to be understood of his manifestations or appearances in a human form to the patriarchs, in the several ages of time; since to these, as to other of the above things, the phrase "from everlasting" cannot be ascribed."

"As commonly interpreted - his eternal generation and sonship, the only begotten of the Father, of the same nature with him, and a distinct person from him; the eternal Word that went forth from him, and was with him from eternity, and is truly God. The phrases are expressive of the eternity of his divine nature and person; so as the former part of the text sets forth his human birth, this his divine generation; So Eliezer produces this to prove the name of the Messiah before the world was, whose "goings forth were from everlasting, when as yet the world was not created."

Jamieson, Faussett and Brown likewise explain: "goings forth . . . from everlasting--The plain antithesis of this clause, to "come forth out of thee" (from Beth-lehem), shows that the eternal generation of the Son is meant. The terms convey the strongest assertion of infinite duration of which the Hebrew language is capable (compare Psalm 90:2, Proverbs 8:22) Messiah's generation as man coming forth unto God to do His will on earth is from Beth-lehem; but as Son of God, His goings forth are from everlasting."

John Wesley tersely remarks: "Going forth - Whose generation, as he is the Son of God, equal with his father, is eternal."

Matthew Henry says: " How the Messiah is here described. It is he that is to be ruler in Israel, whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting. Here we have, (1.) His existence from eternity, as God: his goings forth, or emanations, as the going forth of the beams from the sun, were, or have been, of old, from everlasting, which is so signal a description of Christ's eternal generation, or his going forth as the Son of God, begotten of his Father before all worlds, that this prophecy must belong only to him, and could never be verified of any other. It certainly speaks of a going forth that was now past, and must here be taken in the strictest sense (the same with Ps. 90:2, From everlasting to everlasting thou are God), and can be applied to no other than to him who was able to say, Before Abraham was, I am, Jn. 8:58."

Adam Clarke writes in his Bible commentary: "Whose goings forth have been from of old - In every age, from the foundation of the world, there has been some manifestation of the Messiah. He was the hope, as he was the salvation, of the world, from the promise to Adam in paradise, to his manifestation in the flesh four thousand years after.

From everlasting - מימי עולם miyemey olam, "From the days of all time;" from time as it came out of eternity. That is, there was no time in which he has not been going forth-coming in various ways to save men. And he that came forth the moment that time had its birth, was before that time in which he began to come forth to save the souls that he had created. He was before all things. As he is the Creator of all things, so he is the Eternal, and no part of what was created. All being but God has been created. Whatever has not been created is God. But Jesus is the Creator of all things; therefore he is God; for he cannot be a part of his own work."

The King James Holy Bible - Micah 5:2 "But thou Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; WHOSE GOINGS FORTH have been of old, FROM EVERLASTING."

What does it mean when it says His "goings forth" are from everlasting.  Well, comparing Scripture with Scripture it is easy to see what is meant here.  God determined from the foundation of the world that He would "send forth" His Son into the world to redeem His people.  The Lord Jesus often spoke of this saying such things as: "If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I PROCEEDED FORTH AND CAME FROM GOD; neither came I of myself, but HE SENT ME." (John 8:42).  "I CAME FORTH FROM the Father, and AM COME INTO THE WORLD: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father." (John 16:28)

This reading in Micah 5:2 - "whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting" - found in the KJB, NKJV, Bishop's Bible, 1568,  Coverdale's Bible 1535, the Great Bible 1540 and Matthews Bible 1549 - whose out goynge hath bene from the begynning, & from euerlastynge.", the Geneva Bible 1587, the Revised Version of 1885, the American Standard Version of 1901 -"whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting.",  the Hebrew Names Version, Webster's, the KJV 21st Century Version, and the Third Millenium Bible.

Miles Coverdale version 1535 -"And thou Bethleem Ephrata, art litle amonge the thousandes off Iuda, Out off the shal come one vnto me, which shall be ye gouernoure in Israel: whose outgoinge hath bene from the begynnynge, and from euerlastinge."

NASB - "But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Too little to be among the clans of Judah, From you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel. His goings forth are from long ago, From the days of eternity."

The NASB at least agrees with the meaning found in the King James Bible in that it shows the two natures of the Son of God. He is both man and the eternal God. He was born in Bethlehem as a man, but His goings forth are from everlasting.

The older Catholic Douay Version used to read just like the King James Bible here in Micah 5:2.  It says: "AND THOU, BETHLEHEM Ephrata, art a little one among the thousands of Juda: out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be the ruler in Israel: and his going forth is from the beginning, from the days of eternity."

Martin Luther's 1545 German Bible reads like the King James Bible with: "welches Ausgang von Anfang und von Ewigkeit her gewesen ist." = "who exit of beginning and from eternity was.", as does the French Martin of 1744 - "et ses issues sont d'ancienneté, dès les jours éternels.", and the Spanish Sagradas Escrituras of 1569 - "y sus salidas son desde el principio, desde los días de los siglos.", the Spanish Reina Valera of 1960 (but not the 1995 edition!) - "y sus salidas son desde el principio, desde los días de la eternidad.", the Portuguese Almeida - "e cujas saídas são desde os tempos antigos, desde os dias da eternidade." and the Italian Diodati of 1649 - "le cui uscite sono ab antico, da’ tempi eterni."

However, modern "scholarship" is in the tail spin of apostasy and all roads are leading back to the whore of Babylon.   The liberal  Revised Standard Version of 1946 (RSV), NRSV 1989, the 2001 ESV and the modern Catholic bible versions like the Jerusalem Bible of 1968, St. Joseph New American Bible of 1970 and the New Jerusalem bible of 1985 we read: "But you, O Bethlehem Eph'rathah, who are little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose ORIGIN is from of old, FROM ANCIENT DAYS."

Note - To see how times have changed in the ever changing world of "scholarship", please see the article I put together showing how less than 60 years ago the Dallas Theological Seminary professors openly criticized this reading first introduced in the liberal RSV and warned of its theological errors.

http://brandplucked.webs.com/timeschangedtsemnet.htm

The NIV - "But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose ORIGINS are from of old, FROM ANCIENT TIMES."

Jehovah Witness New World Translation 1961 - "And you, O Bethlehem Ephrahah, the one too little to get to be among the thousands of Judah, from you there will come out to me the one who is to become ruler in Israel, WHOSE ORIGIN IS FROM EARLY TIMES, FROM THE DAYS OF TIME INDEFINITE."

The Catholic St. Joseph New American bible of 1970 reads: "Whose ORIGIN IS FROM OF OLD, FROM ANCIENT TIMES." while both the Jerusalem bible 1968 and the Catholic New Jerusalem of 1985 read: "whose ORIGINS GO BACK TO THE DISTANT PAST, TO THE DAYS OF OLD.The modern "evangelical" versions are in fact the new Catholic bible versions, put together as a joint effort between the Catholic church and modern day  Evangelicals through the "United" Bible Society to produce an "interconfessional" text that can be accepted by all.  For Undeniable Proof that the ESV, NIV, NASBs are the "new" Catholic bible versions, see -

The JW's basic doctrine about Jesus Christ is that He is NOT the eternal and everlasting God, but was a created being who had an origin, and they use Micah 5:2 as one of their "proof texts" to teach that the Son of God is a lesser god and a created being who had an origin!

The word "origin" simply means "the point at which something comes into existence". Webster's dictionary defines it as 1. the beginning of the existence of anything.  It then goes on to state that the word "origin applies to the things or persons from which something is derived and often to the causes operating before the thing itself comes into existence." So what exactly is  this "origin from ancient times" of the Son of God versions like the NIV, ESV 2001 edition, RSV, modern Catholic bibles and the Jehovah Witness translation are talking about?

Once the liberal theologians who put together the RSV (they openly denied that Jesus Christ was eternal Deity) and other heretics like the Jehovah Witnesses have a verse in place in their "bibles" that teaches the false doctrine that the Son of God had an origin, then every time after that when a verse might hint at or teach that Jesus Christ is God, then they come back with - "Oh, sure, he was a god, but he was not the eternal God.  You see, he had an origin."  These new versions also follow false and perverted Greek texts when instead of saying "GOD was manifest in the flesh" 1 Timothy 3:16, versions like the JW version, RSV, NIV, NASB , Catholic versions like the Jerusalem bible and the St. Joseph New American bible etc. say "He was manifest in the flesh".  Well, so what?  Everybody is manifest in the flesh!  That doesn't make Jesus Christ special in any way, does it?

Dan Wallace’s NET version - “As for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, seemingly insignificant among the clans of Judah – from you a king will emerge who will rule over Israel on my behalf, one whose ORIGINS are IN THE DISTANT PAST.” (No reference to His everlasting Being)

New Century Version 1997 - “...from you will come one who will rule Israel for me. HE COMES FROM VERY OLD TIMES, FROM DAYS LONG AGO.”

New Life Bible 1969 - “...But from you One will come who will rule for Me in Israel. HIS COMING WAS PLANNED LONG AGO, FROM THE BEGINNING.” (Just planned out, but He Himself wasn’t there from everlasting)

The Message  2002 - “He'll be no upstart, no pretender. HIS  FAMILY TREE IS ANCIENT AND DISTINGUISHED.” (Nothing about His being the everlasting Son of God)

The Revised Standard Version 1952 and ESV 2001 edition - “one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose ORIGIN IS FROM OF OLD, FROM ANCIENT DAYS.”  (Gone is His eternal Deity)  The ESV has now been revised three times within just 10 years - 2001, 2007 and 2011. The ESV 2011 now reads differently than the ESV 2001 edition, but it still is not as strong on the eternal deity of the Son of God as is the King James Bible.  The 2011 ESV now reads: "one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose COMING FORTH IS FROM OF OLD, FROM ANCIENT DAYS."  This is sort of a half way house between "origin is from ancient days" and the correct "whose goings forth are from EVERLASTING."  The  latest ESV 2011 still has a reference to time rather than to eternity.

Let's take a closer look at this word "from everlasting"

King James Bible - Psalm 93:2 Thy throne is established of old: thou art from everlasting.

NIV - Psalm 93:2 Your throne was established long ago; you are from all eternity.

The NIV says God is everlasting/eternal based upon the Hebrew word for everlasting.

But when the NIV and other modern versions get to Micah 5:2 where the reference is to Jesus Christ then suddenly the Hebrew word for everlasting changes to "from the distant past" or "from ancient times" – Now Jesus is not eternal anymore. Why is God eternal in Psalm 93:2 but Jesus is not eternal in Micah 5:2 according to several modern versions? It is the same Hebrew word.

The Holman Standard - "One shall come from you to be ruler over Israel for Me. His ORIGIN is from antiquity, from eternity."

The Jehovah Witness version, called the New World Translation, says, "whose ORIGIN is from early times, from the days of time indefinite."

Why do the NIV, RSV, ESV 2001 edition, Holman, modern Catholic bibles and the JW bibles say “origin”? Christ did not have an origin or a beginning, but He Himself is the beginning, the source of all that exists. Revelation 22:13 tells us, “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.” Compare these words spoken by the Lord Jesus Christ with those found in Isaiah 44:6, “Thus saith the LORD, the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.”

The JW’s teach that Christ is not eternal God, but rather the first created being, and less by nature than God the Father. The true word of God says, "whose GOINGS FORTH have been from of old, FROM EVERLASTING." Remember, Christ said: "I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world."

The KJB says his goings forth are from everlasting. Yet the NIV, RSV, ESV 2001 and modern Catholic bible versions say his origin is from ancient times. Ancient times may be long, long ago, but it is not the same as everlasting.

The Hebrew word olam can be translated as “ancient” when applied to created things or people as it is in Psalm 22:28, “Remove not the ancient landmark”, or as in Isaiah 44:7, “since I appointed the ancient people”, or even "of old" when referring to things and events that began in time like Micah 7:14 "...let them feed in Bashan and Gilead, as in days OF OLD.",  but when the word is applied to the nature of God, it is always translated  as “everlasting” as in Psalm 90:2, “from everlasting to everlasting Thou art God.”

The NIV concordance shows that they have translated this word as “everlasting” 60 times, as eternal or eternity 8 times, as “forever” 202 times, but as “from ancient times” only twice - one of them here in Micah 5:2 where they apply it to our Lord and Redeemer!

As you can see from the King James Bible and those that agree with it, they clearly teach the two natures of the God-man, the Lord Jesus Christ, who would come forth to be ruler in Israel. The first major version to alter the meaning and teach that the Son had an origin was the liberal RSV, which was put together by scholars who did not believe in the full deity of Christ. This version was generally rejected by Fundamentalist Christians as being " too liberal". Then later the NIV "softened up" the body of Christ with this heretical reading and now the Catholic New Jerusalem of 1985, the ESV 2001 and Holman Standard  of 2003 as well as Daniel Wallace/Dallas Theological Seminary NET version continue this blasphemy.

I have heard some who try to defend the NIV, ESV reading of "origin" by telling us that His origin refers to His family lineage and they tell us His ancestry is from ancient times. There are two big problems with this explanation.

If the NIV, ESV, Holman, New Jerusalem versions wanted to communicate this idea, then just come out and say "whose FAMILY LINE is from ancient times". But they don't do this.

Secondly, if only the family line is from ancient times, then there is nothing special about the Son of God. Everybody's family line is from long ago and ancient times. We all come from Adam!!! It can be said of John, Peter, Paul, Joseph or anyone else that their family line is from long ago. So what is so special about this? It wouldn't prove His deity.

But if we say "His goings forth are from everlasting" then we have witness that He is the eternal Son of God, and the two natures of our Redeemer are clearly revealed. You cannot get this from the NIV, ESV, RSV, NET, New Jerusalem, Holman and JW versions.

Does the Son of God have an "origin"?  Of course not. Not if you read and believe the true Bible, the Authorized King James Holy Bible - God's pure and preserved words in the English language.

Another example found in the Revised Standard Version and the 2001 English Standard Version.

Hebrews 2:11-12 "For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified ARE ALL OF ONE: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee."

John Gill - "all of one: they are both of one God and Father, Christ's God is their God, and his Father is their Father; they are of one body, Christ is the head, and they are members; they are of one covenant, Christ is the surety, Mediator, and messenger of it, and they share in all its blessings and promises; they are of one man, Adam, Christ is a Son of Adam, though not by ordinary generation, they descend from him in the common way; they are all of one nature, of one blood; Christ has took part of the same flesh and blood with them."

Jamieson, Faussett and Brown - "of one--Father, God, as He is Father of His spiritual human sons, Christ the Head and elder Brother, and His believing people, the members of the body and family. "Of one" is not "of one father Adam," or "Abraham," as BENGEL and others suppose. For the Saviour's participation in the lowness of our humanity is not mentioned till Hebrews 2:12, and then as a consequence of what precedes. Christ's Sonship (by generation) in relation to God is reflected in the sonship (by adoption) of His brethren."

Matthew Henry - " Now Christ, who is the agent in this work of sanctification, and Christians, who are the recipient subjects, are all of one. How? They are all of one heavenly Father, and that is God. God is the Father of Christ by eternal generation and by miraculous conception, of Christians by adoption and regeneration."

Hebrews 2:11 "For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified ARE ALL OF ONE; for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren."

So read all Greek texts as well as the King James Bible, the NKJV, TMB, KJV 21, Revised Version, American Standard Version, Darby, Young's, Webster's, Tyndale and the Geneva Bible.

NASB - "For both He who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all FROM ONE FATHER; for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren," (Note: the word "Father" is not found in any text, but it does fit the context though it limits the scope of meaning.)

NIV - "Both the one who makes men holy and those who are made holy are OF THE SAME FAMILY. So JESUS is not ashamed to call them brothers." (Note: Again, there are no words in any text for "the same family", nor for "Jesus", and the NIV severely limits the scope of meaning, but at least it doesn't teach what we find in the RSV, ESV.)

RSV, NRSV, ESV 2001 edition - "For he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified HAVE ALL ONE ORIGIN. That is why he is not ashamed to call them brethren," Now, we are back again to the idea of Christ, the Son of God, having an origin - just like the RSV, and the 2001 ESV teach in Micah 5:2.  Oh, but wait. Now the ESV 2011 has once again changed its text and now reads: "For he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified ALL HAVE ONE SOURCE. That is why he is not ashamed to call them brothers."

This is just one of several theological doctrines that have been twisted and changed in most modern versions. Contrary to what we are often told, the "message" is not always the same.

1 Corinthians 15:45

Look at this one in the NIV -
God’s word describes Adam as being “made a living soul.” The NIV, however, follows the evolutionary philosophy of the world and changes God’s word to say that Adam “became a living being.” In the NIV man was not created, but instead just “became.” This evolutionary slant fits in nicely with the Roman Catholic teachings.

KJB
And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul. (1 Corinthians 15:45)

NIV
So it is written: “The first man Adam became a living being.” (1 Corinthians 15:45)

The ESV does the same thing. It reads: "Thus it is written, The first man Adam BECAME a living being; the last Adam BECAME a life giving spirit."

Besides promoting or opening the door for Evolution, the NIV, ESV translation is just plain ridiculous. It directly implies that the first man Adam was not a "living being" when he first appeared. It omits the idea of Adam being MADE, and doesn't tell us how he got here. But when he was first here, he was not yet a "living being"; He had to "become" a living being. And the word is NOT "being" it is SOUL. Atheism and evolutionary philosophy teach that man has no soul. Having a soul implies there is a higher eternal Creator that gave us this soul that will live forever. To say, like the NIV, ESV do, that Adam "became a living being"  merely puts Adam on the same level as other living beings (trees,, plants, crops, fish and all other animals on the earth that have no soul. 'Being' means only the state or fact of existing. 'A living soul' implies that man was created in the image of God. There is a big difference.

Satan is indeed subtil, but since he has already gotten away with so much in all these fake bible versions that NOBODY believes are the infallible words of God anyway, now he is getting even more bold in his perversions.

Conversations with Evolutionists, Liberals, non-Christians, etc...

Here is a conversation on Social Media I had with a liberal who holds an evolutionary world view. The conversation was regarding the statement: “Liberal Hypocrisy means defending ‎Islam and attacking Christianity, even if it involves killing homosexuals and beating women”.

I took the liberty to protect the not-so-innocent by changing his name to simply “Liberal”…I also edited his expletive.

Liberal:  Funny... someone inserted Islam where it used to say Conservatives...

John Hicks: equivocation, typically seen coming from liberals. Good to see you are at least consistent there Liberal.

Liberal: Consistently not buying into that fear bull%^#$. Yup. I'm sure they don't hold the upper hand on being anti homosexual or beating women...Of course I could be wrong and all Homosexuals and women are totally invited to be part of the leadership of Conservative groups...

John Hicks:  Evolution is anti-homosexual so why shouldn't all random chaotic accidents be as well? From an evolutionary perspective your point here and all others as well are of no value in the grand scheme of things. It troubles me to see self-refuting world views at play.

John Hicks: Also, fear and anti-homosexual have no relationship...

What is really in our diets that is killing us...

Here are a couple of good articles that speak to the crux of our dietary problems in our current society.

Heart surgeon speaks out on what really causes heart disease:

Who will rise up for the LORD against evildoers?

Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity? Psalm 94:16

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. Ephesians 5:11

Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.  John 7:24

For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake. Titus 1:10-11

When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul. Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul. Ezekiel 3:18-21

For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. John 3:20

Here are some examples of how it has been done in the past…

O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.  Matthew 12:34-37

But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Matthew 3:7

Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him, And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord? Acts 13:9-10

And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? 1 Corinthians 3:1-3

It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife. And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you. 1 Corinthians 5:1-2

But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed. For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they were come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them which were of the circumcision. And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation. But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews? Galatians 2:11-14

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead [men's] bones, and of all uncleanness. Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous, And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets. Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets. Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers. Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell? Matthew 23:23-33

Then said Paul unto him, God shall smite thee, thou whited wall: for sittest thou to judge me after the law, and commandest me to be smitten contrary to the law? Acts 23:3

Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye. Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers: Who have received the law by the disposition of angels, and have not kept it. Acts 7:51-53 (see all of chapter 7 for the entire open air hell-fire admonishment from Stephen to the false teachers of his time)

Conclusion:

A righteous man falling down before the wicked [is as] a troubled fountain, and a corrupt spring. Proverbs 25:26

Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin. James 4:17

Why Good Men Must Unite

Whilst men are linked together, they easily and speedily communicate the alarm of any evil design. They are enabled to fathom it with common counsel, and to oppose it with united strength. Whereas, when they lie dispersed, without concert, order, or discipline, communication is uncertain, counsel difficult, and resistance impracticable. Where men are not acquainted with each other’s principles, nor experienced in each other’s talents, nor at all practised in their mutual habitudes and dispositions by joint efforts in business; no personal confidence, no friendship, no common interest, subsisting among them; it is evidently impossible that they can act a public part with uniformity, perseverance, or efficacy. In a connection, the most inconsiderable man, by adding to the weight of the whole, has his value, and his use; out of it, the greatest talents are wholly unserviceable to the public. No man, who is not inflamed by vain-glory into enthusiasm, can flatter himself that his single, unsupported, desultory, unsystematic endeavours, are of power to defeat the subtle designs and united cabals of ambitious citizens. When bad men combine, the good must associate; else they will fall, one by one, an unpitied sacrifice in a contemptible struggle. - Edmund Burke 1770

Taxing a citizenry to support socialized welfare is not charity

Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. 2 Corinthians 9:7

KJV a Major Obstacle to the New World Order

KJV a Major Obstacle to the New World Order

Logical Fallacy of Proof by Uniformitarianism

see http://www.seekfind.net/Home.html for more info.

Logical Fallacy of Proof by Uniformitarianism

Proof by uniformitarianism is one of the many smokescreens that are used to cover the fact that the reasoning is based on one of the three fallacies of Agrippa's trilemma. Whenever a logical fallacy is committed, the fallacy has its roots in Agrippa's trilemma. All human thought (without Divine revelation) is based on one of three unhappy possibilities. These three possibilities are infinite regress, circular reasoning, or axiomatic thinking. This problem is known as Agrippa's trilemma. Some have claimed that only logic and math can be known without Divine revelation; however, that is not true. There is no reason to trust either logic or math without Divine revelation. Science is also limited to the pragmatic because of the weakness on human reasoning, which is known as Agrippa's trilemma.
The Logical Fallacy of Proof by Uniformitarianism occurs when uniformitarianism, the unfounded assumption that there was not catastrophic, worldwide, Genesis flood and that all processes have continued from the beginning as they are now, is used as a base assumption or axiom and treated as if it were a known fact. This is a type of hysteron proteron and is one of the outworkings of Agrippa's Trilemma. All claims against Divine revelation are always based on some form of infinite regress, circular reasoning, or arbitrary assumption. One of these three is always used to justify Uniformitarianism.

Examples of the Logical Fallacy of Proof by Uniformitarianism

Bill Nye arguing against Creation science: "if there was this enormous Flood that you speak of, wouldn’t there have been churning and bubbling and roiling? How would these things have settled out? Your claim that they settled out in an extraordinarily short amount of time . . ."
There is a suggestion that the bubbling and roiling would not have allowed deposition of the sediments that now make up the rock layers. This is false and therefore it represents a weak premise. The reality is that it has been demonstrated that deposition of sediments can be very rapid. The answer to this question is that the sediments we see are exactly in accord with what we would expect if there were a horrific, catastrophic, worldwide flood. There is a lot of science that supports this. Bill Nye implies that they would not have settled out in a way that reflects what we can observe, however, there is no evidence supplied to support Bill Nye’s implication.
Bill Nye is presupposing Uniformitarianism (no-Floodism), the very thing he is trying to prove. In other words, he is again using the fallacy of circular reasoning, that is, begging the question. If there were no Flood, then the time would be extraordinarily short, however, Bill Nye has not shown evidence other than this circular reasoning that the Flood didn’t happen. And we already know that the Flood did happen. We know it by revelation. God says so through Scripture and through what we can see around us.

The Utter Hypocrisy of modern Textual Criticism - By Will Kinney

Matthew 16:2-3 The Utter Hypocrisy of modern Textual Criticism- By Will Kinney

In Matthew 16:2-3 we read: "He answered and said unto them, WHEN IT IS EVENING, YE SAY, IT WILL BE FAIR WEATHER; FOR THE SKY IS RED. AND IN THE MORNING, IT WILL BE FOUL WEATHER TO DAY; FOR THE SKY IS RED AND LOWRING. O YE HYPOCRITES, YE CAN DISCERN THE FACE OF THE SKY; BUT CAN YE NOT DISCERN THE SIGNS OF THE TIMES?"

Matthew 16:2-3. Here we see an example of how ridiculous it is to call modern textual criticism a "science" in any legitimate sense at all. Modern textual criticism has more in common with Voodoo or the Ouija board than science.

It's the ol' "Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn, and caldron bubble...For a charm of powerful trouble, Like a hell-broth boil and bubble." (From Shakespeare's Macbeth)

Before we get into the textual matters, I want to address the word "lowring". This is not an archaic word. Webster's 1999 dictionary defines it as meaning "frowning; dark and threatening, gloomy, or sullen." Lowring is also the English word found here in the Geneva Bible, Wesley's N.T. 1755, the Worsley Version 1770, the Alford N.T. 1870, the RV 1885, ASV 1901, the Thomson Bible 1808, Webster's Bible 1833, Darby 1890, the Montgomery N.T. 1924, the Douay Version 1950, the KJV 21st Century 1994, Third Millennium Bible 1998, the Knox Bible 2012 (lowering) and even in the 2003 Updated Bible Version. Now, to address the textual issues.

All these words in capital letters from "When it is" to "of the times?" are found in the Majority of all Greek texts, including C correction, the Syriac Peshitta and numerous Old Latin copies. However BOTH Sinaiticus and Vaticanus completely omit all 32 Greek words in these sentences.

The total inconsistency of modern textual criticism is seen here in all its absurdity. There are literally hundreds and hundreds of words and many whole verses omitted from most modern versions based primarily on the omissions found in Sinaiticus and/or Vaticanus, yet right here in Matthew 16:2-3, even though BOTH Sinaiticus and Vaticanus omit all these words, versions like the NASB, NIV, RSV, RV, ASV, ESV, ISV, NET and the Holman Standard, continue to include these two verses in their versions.

Westcott and Hort put both verses [in brackets] to indicate doubt as to whether or not these 2 verses are inspired Scripture, and the Nestle-Aland and UBS critical Greek texts STILL have them in brackets today.

Versions that OMIT BOTH verses - Matthew 16:2-3 - because of Sinaiticus and Vaticanus
Actually, there are some versions that are based on the Critical Text that do omit all these 32 words from their translations because these words are omitted by the Sinaitiic and Vaticanus manuscripts. At least they are being consistent and more honest about it.

These include The Anderson New Testament Translated from the Sinaitic Manuscript 1918, Rotherham's Emphasized bible 1902, the James Moffatt New Testament 1913, the Riverside N.T. 1923, Goodspeed's translation of 1942, The English Bible of 1970, the Williams N.T. 1972, the Revised English Bible 1989 and The Christogenea New Testament 2009 - another Critical Text version. The Jehovah Witness NWT puts the verses [in brackets], indicating doubt as to their authenticity.

Even in these two verses another significant omission is seen. The words "O YE HYPOCRITES" are in the Majority of Greek copies as well as the Old Latin copies a, air, b, c, d, ed, f, ff1, ff2, g1, l, q, the Coptic Boharic and the Diatessaron 170-175 A.D.

The word "HYPOCRITES!" is in the text of the Reformation Bibles in numerous foreign language Bibles as well. But there are a few manuscripts that contain all the words both Sinaiticus and Vaticanus leave out, except they omit the word "HYPOCRITES". So what do these modern versions do? They also omit the words "O ye hypocrites" too.

In other words, even though ALL these 32 words are NOT FOUND in either Sinaiticus or Vaticanus, these modern versions INCLUDE all of them except "O YE HYPOCRITES" which is omitted only by a very few, and is found in the vast majority. Now how "scientific" is that???!

The words "O ye HYPOCRITES" are found in Tyndale 1525, Coverdale 1535, the Great Bible 1540, Matthew's Bible 1549, the Bishops' bible 1568, the Geneva Bible 1582, Wesley's N.T. 1755, Youngs 1898, NKJV 1982, World English Bible 2000, Modern English Version 2014, Lamsa's translation of the Syriac Peshitta, Luther's German Bible 1545 and Schlachter Bible 2000 "Ihr Heuchler!", the French Martin Bible 1744, Ostervald 1996 and Louis Segond 2007 - "Hypocrites" (it's the same in French as in English), the Italian Diodati 1649, La Nuova Diodati 1991 and Riveduta 2006 "Ipocriti", the Spanish Sagradas Escrituras 1569 and Cipriano de Valera 1602 and Reina Valera 1909-1995 "Hipócritas", the Portuguese A Biblia Sagrada "Hipócritas", the Afrikaans bible 1953 "Geveinsdes", Hungarian Karoli Bible "Képmutatók", the Russian Synodal Version 1876 "Лицемеры!", the Romanian Cornilescu Bible - "Făţarnicilor", the Dutch Staten Vertaling Bible - "Gij geveinsden!", the Tagalog Ang Salita ng Diyos 1998 - "O, kayong mga mapagpaimbabaw!", the Albanian Bible, the Smith and Van Dyke Arabic Bible -وفي الصباح اليوم شتاء. لان السماء محمرةبعبوسة. يا مراؤونتعرفون ان تميّزواوجه السماء واماعلامات الازمنة فلا تستطيعون. and the Modern Greek Bible "Υποκριται".

Matthew 16:2-3 are found in virtually every Bible translation ever made, in spite of the fact that BOTH Sinaiticus and Vaticanus completely omit them. They are found in all Reformation Bibles in all languages including the Modern Greek Bible and the Modern Hebrew Bible.

If ever the omission of a particular reading speaks volumes, this is it. The words "O ye hypocrites" are missing from these modern versions like the ESV, NASB, NIV, NET AND from all the aforementioned Catholic versions. Do you think there might be a chance these bible translators will hear "O ye hypocrites!" loud and clear from the mouth of the Lord God Almighty in a coming day?

Freedom from religion?

We have slid from original intent indeed.

Most conversations these days tend to be useless from a Christian’s perspective as we not have a voice, really.

We can argue all we want but it does equate to just that.

Secularists, humanists, liberals, atheists, etc can proselytize all they want but the Christian must remain silent.

This is what the modern-day twisted misinterpretation of Jefferson's letter to the Danbury Baptists has produced.

Sad and as always, the modern-day ideological mindset is both illogical and hypocritical.

This book, if you ever get a chance to read it can shed a more honest light on the subject. http://www.amazon.com/Separation-Church-State-Philip-Hamburger/dp/0674013743

How can you obey His Words when you don't really know what they are?

KJV users such as myself have been decisive even though we and others have been using it for over 400 years now. Interesting that people cannot come to the same doctrinal conclusions when they use different versions of the Bible.

This is one of the most important reasons why the Bible version issue needs to be dealt with.

No wonder there is such division within the so-called church today with all the different doctrines and denominations out there. No wonder people today question the Word of God so much today.

Must scholars tell you what God really means?

That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 15:6

Argumentum ad antiquitatem, stop it already!

Someone just said that we do things all the time that are pagan in nature such as Christmas, wedding traditions, etc. so there is nothing inherently wrong with these just because they have pagan origins.

Because we have been doing somethings for any period of time does not logically and, more importantly, Biblically make them right.

If we prove all things as the Bible tells us to do then we would be weeding out more and more of these compromises.

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil. 1 Thessalonians 5:21-22

Christian liberty is what most people claim at this point to continue to justify their desires but Christian liberty does not give us the right to do things contrary to God's will especially if they are an abomination (unclean) to God. Our liberty is in Christ and we “GET TO” server Him through serving others.

For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. Galatians 5:13

I have said this before but will say it again. God told us that just because we want to say something is clean or acceptable to God does not mean it is. Only God can cleanse the unclean in this sense.

Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ask now the priests concerning the law, saying, If one bear holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and with his skirt do touch bread, or pottage, or wine, or oil, or any meat, shall it be holy? And the priests answered and said, No. Then said Haggai, If one that is unclean by a dead body touch any of these, shall it be unclean? And the priests answered and said, It shall be unclean. Then answered Haggai, and said, So is this people, and so is this nation before me, saith the LORD; and so is every work of their hands; and that which they offer there is unclean. Haggai 2:11-14

To use tradition to justify the legitimacy of anything is a logical fallacy called argumentum ad antiquitatem or pleading to antiquity or tradition. Stop being fallacious and start proving all things as the Bible says you ought to do...

Practice makes perfect?

Practice makes perfect.

Perhaps not.

Perfect practice makes perfect.

Maybe.

Consistent and correct practice makes better.

Yeah, that's more like it.

I Vote along Biblical not Party lines....

When people tell me I am throwing away my vote by not voting within the two party system I reply with this:

As a Christian I am supposed to not vote for the "lesser of two evils" as I am told to:

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil. 1 Thessalonians 5:21-22

Even with scriptures being very clear that we are to never compromise people still insist on using the world's logic to try to convince me to "not throw away my vote" and that if I did so then we would be stuck with the worse of the two evils.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2

I will not stray from obeying God's word in order to "fix" man's politics. It is as simple as that. Besides, history has shown that it is not always a throw away vote when one votes along Biblical verses party lines. Right?

Tis the season, to compromise?

Do not conform to the world... Today much of the church has strayed far from obeying this...

So many times throughout the Bible we are told to not do as the heathen do. We are told to not to conform unto the world and to not take any part of their customs and traditions yet time and again people do these things. Not only do they do so but they adamantly fight for their right to do so and they condemn anyone who challenges them and blame them for stealing their joy.

As for joy, this is the proper perspective for a believer:

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.  Hebrews 12:1-2

Be ye seperate, Be ye holy, be not conformed, do not do as the heathen do..

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.  Romans 12:1-2

Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. James 4:4

Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.  Be not ye therefore partakers with them.  For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:  (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)  Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.  And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.  For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.  But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.  Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.  See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,  Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.  Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.  Ephesians 5:6-17

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.  Abstain from all appearance of evil.  1 Thessalonians 5:21-22

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?  And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?   And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.  2 Corinthians 6:14-18

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.  For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.  1 John 2:15-17

Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.1 John 3:13

If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.  Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me.  John 15:18-21

While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.  And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.  I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. John 17:12-21

If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.  1 John 1:6-7

Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.  2 John 1:9-11

Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods.  But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage?  Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years.  I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.  Galatians 4:8-11

Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest judgment Exodus 23:2

Ye shall utterly destroy all the places, wherein the nations which ye shall possess served their gods, upon the high mountains, and upon the hills, and under every green tree: And ye shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire; and ye shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place. Ye shall not do so unto the LORD your God.  Deuteronomy 12:2-4

When the LORD thy God shall cut off the nations from before thee, whither thou goest to possess them, and thou succeedest them, and dwellest in their land; Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.  Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God: for every abomination to the LORD, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods.  What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.  Deuteronomy 12:29-32

When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee. Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God.  Deuteronomy 18:9-13

That they teach you not to do after all their abominations, which they have done unto their gods; so should ye sin against the LORD your God. Deuteronomy 20:18

Be ye therefore very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses, that ye turn not aside therefrom to the right hand or to the left; That ye come not among these nations, these that remain among you; neither make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause to swear by them, neither serve them, nor bow yourselves unto them: But cleave unto the LORD your God, as ye have done unto this day.  Joshua 23:6-8

Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD.   And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. And the people answered and said, God forbid that we should forsake the LORD, to serve other gods; For the LORD our God, he it is that brought us up and our fathers out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage, and which did those great signs in our sight, and preserved us in all the way wherein we went, and among all the people through whom we passed: And the LORD drave out from before us all the people, even the Amorites which dwelt in the land: therefore will we also serve the LORD; for he is our God. And Joshua said unto the people, Ye cannot serve the LORD: for he is an holy God; he is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins. If ye forsake the LORD, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he hath done you good. And the people said unto Joshua, Nay; but we will serve the LORD. And Joshua said unto the people, Ye are witnesses against yourselves that ye have chosen you the LORD, to serve him. And they said, We are witnesses. Now therefore put away, said he, the strange gods which are among you, and incline your heart unto the LORD God of Israel. And the people said unto Joshua, The LORD our God will we serve, and his voice will we obey.  Joshua 24:14-24

And I will punish Bel in Babylon, and I will bring forth out of his mouth that which he hath swallowed up: and the nations shall not flow together any more unto him: yea, the wall of Babylon shall fall. My people, go ye out of the midst of her, and deliver ye every man his soul from the fierce anger of the LORD.  Jeremiah 51:44-45

And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. Revelation 18:4

Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. Colossians 2:8

But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?... This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.   Matthew 15:3, 8-9

Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.  For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.  They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.  They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.  Jeremiah 10:2-5

So they feared the LORD, and made unto themselves of the lowest of them priests of the high places, which sacrificed for them in the houses of the high places. They feared the LORD, and served their own gods, after the manner of the nations whom they carried away from thence. Unto this day they do after the former manners: they fear not the LORD, neither do they after their statutes, or after their ordinances, or after the law and commandment which the LORD commanded the children of Jacob, whom he named Israel; With whom the LORD had made a covenant, and charged them, saying, Ye shall not fear other gods, nor bow yourselves to them, nor serve them, nor sacrifice to them: But the LORD, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and a stretched out arm, him shall ye fear, and him shall ye worship, and to him shall ye do sacrifice. And the statutes, and the ordinances, and the law, and the commandment, which he wrote for you, ye shall observe to do for evermore; and ye shall not fear other gods. And the covenant that I have made with you ye shall not forget; neither shall ye fear other gods. But the LORD your God ye shall fear; and he shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies. Howbeit they did not hearken, but they did after their former manner. So these nations feared the LORD, and served their graven images, both their children, and their children's children: as did their fathers, so do they unto this day.  2 Kings 17:32-41

But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils. 1 Corinthians 10:20

For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.  For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.  But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.  2 Peter 2:20-22

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.  Matthew 7:13-14

Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. James 1:27

Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. 1 Peter 1:16
