"You say I'm preaching sinless perfection. You say, "Well, do you think you can get to a place where you can't sin?" I know nothing of the kind. It is not impossible (for a Christian) to sin, but it's possible not to commit sin." - Leonard Ravenhill
The church has succumbed to and has adopted pieces of the humanist worldview. They have compromised "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God"(Romans 3:23) by extending the context to the future tense when it is clearly past tense.
It is not to say that a Christian cannot sin only that it is possible to not sin.
Humanism states we are just humans and will mess up...
Christianity states that a true believer is a new creature and can do all things through Christ!
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Philippians 4:13
To say anything less of this has Jesus telling people to do the impossible when He said several times to folks to go and sin no more.
Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee. John 5:14
She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. John 8:11
To say anything less of this is to say that God cannot work this through His children.
..."with God all things are possible." Matthew 19:26
"...all things are possible to him that believeth." Mark 9:23
And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible. Mark 10:27
And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt. Mark 14:36
And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God. Luke 18:27
The Biblical bottom line is this, we can wake up in the morning, give our day to God and submit to His will and with His strength move forward throughout the day without sinning. Should we stumble His grace is there to pick us up if we truly repent. God's grace and strength are awesome!
