The description of a Godly man...

Oh that I were as in months past, as in the days when God preserved me; [3] When his candle shined upon my head, and when by his light I walked through darkness; [4] As I was in the days of my youth, when the secret of God was upon my tabernacle; [5] When the Almighty was yet with me, when my children were about me; [6] When I washed my steps with butter, and the rock poured me out rivers of oil; [7] When I went out to the gate through the city, when I prepared my seat in the street! [8] The young men saw me, and hid themselves: and the aged arose, and stood up. [9] The princes refrained talking, and laid their hand on their mouth. [10] The nobles held their peace, and their tongue cleaved to the roof of their mouth. [11] When the ear heard me , then it blessed me; and when the eye saw me , it gave witness to me: [12] Because I delivered the poor that cried, and the fatherless, and him that had none to help him. [13] The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me: and I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy. [14] I put on righteousness, and it clothed me: my judgment was as a robe and a diadem. [15] I was eyes to the blind, and feet was I to the lame. [16] I was a father to the poor: and the cause which I knew not I searched out. [17] And I brake the jaws of the wicked, and plucked the spoil out of his teeth. [18] Then I said, I shall die in my nest, and I shall multiply my days as the sand. [19] My root was spread out by the waters, and the dew lay all night upon my branch. [20] My glory was fresh in me, and my bow was renewed in my hand. [21] Unto me men gave ear, and waited, and kept silence at my counsel. [22] After my words they spake not again; and my speech dropped upon them. [23] And they waited for me as for the rain; and they opened their mouth wide as for the latter rain. [24] If I laughed on them, they believed it not; and the light of my countenance they cast not down. [25] I chose out their way, and sat chief, and dwelt as a king in the army, as one that comforteth the mourners. Job 29:2-25

Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. [14] Let all your things be done with charity. 1 Corinthians 16:13-14

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. [2] But his delight is in the law of the Lord ; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. [3] And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. Psalm 1:1-3

Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded. [7] In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, [11] For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, [12] Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; [13] Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; [14] Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. Titus 2:6-7, 11-14

Psalm 119:9-16, 24, 27, 45 KJV
Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. [10] With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. [11] Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. [12] Blessed art thou, O Lord : teach me thy statutes. [13] With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth. [14] I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches. [15] I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways. [16] I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word. [24] Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counsellors. [27] Make me to understand the way of thy precepts: so shall I talk of thy wondrous works. [45] And I will walk at liberty: for I seek thy precepts.

But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. [12] Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. [13] I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession; [14] That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: [15] Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; [16] Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen. [17] Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; [18] That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; [19] Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life. 1 Timothy 6:11-19

When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 1 Corinthians 13:11

For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. [25] Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; [26] That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, [27] That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. [28] So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. Ephesians 5:23, 25-28

Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. [13] Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. [16] Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee. 1 Timothy 4:12-13, 16

He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God...Micah 6:8

Praise ye the Lord . Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord , that delighteth greatly in his commandments. [2] His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed. [3] Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever. [4] Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous. [5] A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion. [6] Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance. [7] He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord . [8] His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies. [9] He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour. [10] The wicked shall see it , and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish. Psalm 112:1-10

Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men. Proverbs 22:29

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord : and he delighteth in his way. Psalm 37:23 KJV
