Property Care | Volunteer Opportunity at Internatonal ALERT Academy

My son Zachariah spent about a month and half last summer (2014) at the ALERT Academy campus to help as a volunteer in the Property Care department. He came back with some great stories and even more importantly he grew in Godly Character and acquired skills that will go far in the future towards serving others.

Our Saviour Jesus Christ came not to be served. Zachariah is following Jesus' lead and is preparing to go even further as he joins with Unit 53 for basic training at the end of this month.

And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all. For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.  Mark 10:44-45

Further below are some pictures he took during his time serving on campus last year. The Chinooks where there as CAP (Civil Air Patrol) was on campus. There was a ton of wildlife to enjoy. Sorry there are no pics of the alligators this time around...yeah, they have alligators, how cool is that?

Also included in the pictures are the friends that were made while on campus. They encouraged each other throughout their time working together as well as when they played. One of the highlights was when they got to learn how to repel from the ALERT tower.

Here are some links for anyone who may be interested in joining up with the ministry that is building up young men and women to be better equipped to literally serve and save.

ALERT men receive best-in-class training in subject matter related to emergency response, technical rescue, and service. Three phases of training build teamwork, individual responsibility, and Christ-like character. http://www.alertacademy.com/alert/

ALERT Cadet was founded in 1996 as outgrowth of the ALERT program, with the vision to raise up godly young men who would be “Strong to Overcome” the evil one, from 1 John 2:13, and mighty in spirit. We desire to turn the hearts of the fathers to the sons and the hearts of sons to their fathers (Malachi 4:6). The ALERT Cadet program is a tool which a wise father can use to assist him in raising up Godly sons. http://www.alertcadet.org/

Skills Training for Emergency Preparedness (STEP), an outdoor adventure program for young ladies ages 15 and older, is designed to build confidence on individual and team levels, while preparing young ladies to respond to life’s emergencies, as they learn to put their trust in the Lord. http://www.alertacademy.com/step/

My Daughter Marina participated in the STEP program at the ALERT Academy during the same time Zachariah was volunteering. I need to do a separate post to highlight that. I can honestly say it is one of the best things a young lady can do as the program gives valuable training that will serve the ladies as well as others through them for the remainder of their lives.
