Demonstration of a faulty worldview

This picture contains a quote that shows how closed minded some world views are.

So God does not exist because your way of playing science does not allow it? How is that working out for ya so far? Have you created something from nothing yet? Good luck with that sir...

So if God is a fact you will not even consider Him because of your rules? I bet that makes you feel powerful...

In the Bible that is called being "willingly ignorant" or in the Greek (thanks Kent Hovind) we know it to mean "dumb on purpose".

I bought "That Their Words May Be Used Against Them" by Dr. Henry Morris (ICR) many years ago and have found it quite useful along with many of the more recent 'foot in the mouth' moments that seem to come out daily from so-called scientists. I highly encourage you to check that book out and do not let the so-called experts fool you with their double talk....

Here is a good quote for consideration.

"When for practical purposes the condition of infinite time and matter has to be invoked [in order to make evolution succeed], the concept of probability [possibility of its occurrence] is annulled. By such logic we can prove anything, such as that no matter how complex, everything will repeat itself, exactly and innumerably."—*P.T. Mora, "The Folly of Probability," in *S.W. Fox (ed.), The Origins of Prebiological Systems and of Their Molecular Matrices (1965), p. 45.

In other words, the more improbable it appears for evolution to have occurred the more likely it did...

Discipling: Teaching people to observe all things Jesus commanded verses the Roman's Road and the Sinner's Prayer

The focus on the modern day process of  so-called "soul winning" constitutes little more than a quick trip down 'Romans Road' followed up with a quick and vain repeating of the so-called 'sinner's prayer'.

The sinner's prayer is not biblical to say the least. You will find great examples of when sinner's cried out on their own to God in true repentance for their sins such as what David did in Psalm 51 and the Publican in Luke 18:13. These two men approached God with true repentant hearts and did not have anyone lead them in vain repetitions which is essentially what the sinner's prayer is.

And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. Luke 18:13-14

For those not familiar with the Romans Road below are the verses typically referenced for the modern day so-called 'soul winning' process.

Romans 3:10-12, and 23 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Romans 3:23  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 6:23  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 10:9-10, and 13 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation...For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Romans 5:1, 8 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

Romans 5:8 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Romans 8:38-39  For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Now when we look at the great commission, when Jesus began the first deployment of witnesses, we see that something is missing from the 'Romans Road' approach. We are told specifically to go and teach those who are apart from Christ all things pertaining to Him but specifically His commandments.

The Romans Road is thus the easy way out of doing what we have been commanded to do and that is to teach those we are giving the gospel to.

Salvation comes when the sinner realizes that they truly fall short of the righteousness of God. God's standard is summarized in several places but no where more clearly than with the ten commandments. While the verses from Romans are great and assuring the Romans Road itself says nothing really about God's commandments.

Now there is one commandment mentioned and that is that one must confess and believe but essentially this over all process does not address the heart of what Jesus commanded us to do. Now Paul was not in error for writing his letter to the Romans as he did not do it to be a blue print for soul winning but more so to give the Christians in Rome assurance and clarity towards their faith.

Discipling is a much needed offering that we should be giving at every opportunity when we share the gospel.

Offer yourself to be available to the person you just discussed salvation with for follow ups. Do as Jesus did and disciple those who need it. As per the Great Commission we are to teach everyone and it does not say to look for an easy and quick work around.

Is this something that will be time demanding for you? Is it worth it to you to ensure that the seed planted is truly in soil that is ready? More often than not the soil needs to be worked and it will take much time and effort but the outcome can be a soundly saved disciple of Christ. You cannot have a disciple without discipling first.

Remember that God would rather none to perish but for all to come to repentance. True repentance does not come from a quick jaunt through a couple of verses and then a vain and repetitive prayer. Repentance comes from a broken and contrite heart. This can take time and much teaching for one to fully realize the scope of eternity and the importance of the commitment they are claiming.

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. Psalm 51:17

Jesus' first marching orders given as He was about to ascend up into heaven is what we refer to as the "Great Commission".

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matthew 28:18-20

In order to help you teach and disciple others correctly here is but a partial list of the specific commands of Jesus followed by the Ten Commandments. Yes it will take time to go through them all so getting started is just the first step in truly fulfilling the great commission.

Note: A true believer ought to be excited over this opportunity. It's not that we have to but more correctly, we get to...

He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. Matthew 11:15.
Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. Matthew 13:9 (and 43)
If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.  Mark 4:23
He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. Luke 14:35

...Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Matthew 4:17

I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. Luke 13:3 (and 6).

Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. John 3:5–7.

If ye love me, keep my commandments. John 14:15.

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. Matthew 22:37–38.

And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Matthew 22:39–40.

...Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men Matthew 4:19

Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you” Matthew 5:11–12

Regarding rejoicing:

As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things. 2 Corinthians 6:10

and

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. James 1:2-4

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 5:16

Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:17-19

Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath aught against thee; leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison. Matthew 5:23–25

But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. Matthew 5:28–30 (not to be taken literally in the sense of ripping out your eyes and cutting off your hands but instead do not lust).

Let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil. Matthew 5:37 (this is simply saying to keep your word).

Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: but I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also. And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away. Matthew 5:38–42.

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; that ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? Do not even the publicans the same? Matthew 5:44–46.

If ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. Matthew 5:46–48.

Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly. And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him. After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly. Matthew 6:1–18.

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6:19–21.

Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33.

Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?. Matthew 7:1–3.

More on Judging...Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. John 7:24

Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you. Matthew 7:6.

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: for every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Matthew 7:7–8.

Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. Matthew 7:12.

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Matthew 7:13–14.

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Matthew 7:15–16.

The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few; pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth laborers into his harvest. Matthew 9:37–38.

Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. Matthew 10:16.

Fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Matthew 10:28.

Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28–30.

For God commanded, saying, Honor thy father and mother: and, he that curseth father or mother, let him die the death. Matthew 15:4.

Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees. Matthew 16:6.

If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away? Luke 9:23–25.

Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven. Matthew 18:10.

Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. And if he neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as a heathen man and a publican. Matthew 18:15–17.

And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. Luke 12:15.

Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven. Matthew 18:21–22.

And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, and said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. Matthew 19:4–6.

...whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. Matthew 20:26–28.

Again on being a servant:  And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. Mark 10:44-45

It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer . . . ” Matthew 21:13

Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea: it shall be done. And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. Matthew 21:21–22.

Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbors; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompense be made thee. But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind: and thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just. Luke 14:12–14. (note, this is not a call for social welfare on the government's part leaving us with nothing to do but instead it is a direct command for us to do this as individuals. A government taxing people to prop up a welfare system does not excuse a believer from his role in this...)

Show me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? They say unto him, Caesar’s. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s. Matthew 22:19–21.

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. Matthew 22:37–38.

And the second [commandment] is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Matthew 22:39–40.

Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. Matthew 24:42–44.

As they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and broke it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; for this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. Matthew 26:26–28.

Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. Matthew 26:41.

So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jona, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs. He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jona, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my sheep. John 21:15–16.

God's Ten Commandments:

And God spake all these words, saying, I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments. Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. Thou shalt not kill. Thou shalt not commit adultery. Thou shalt not steal. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's. Exodus 20:1-17

Jesus gave a great example of using some of God's Ten Commandments to teach and show the wealthy young man the cost of following God. Essentially for this young man it came down to not having possessions (other gods) before God and he was not willing to do so. The young man refused to follow Jesus' commandment to sell all he had and give it to the poor and follow Him and he walked away. Sometimes that will happen when we witness to others but we must at least take the first step and doing it correctly as Jesus did.

Because the man refused to obey he did not have the broken and contrite heart that God desires.

And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet? Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions. Matthew 19:16-22

The Creature from ALERT

When I first approached the pond I thought the alligator I had seen there some months ago may have been either long gone or hiding somewhere along the edge in the tall weeds. Well to my surprise the later was true. As I walked to the far right side of the pond I was shocked by a very loud splash into the water. This was not like the mini-splashes you hear when a bull frog or a turtle jumps into the water but more likened to a full grown man doing a belly flop carelessly into a kiddie pool.

Once I was able to compose myself I begin to wait for him to surface and he did, on the other side of the pond. I was limited to my larger lens which struggled to capture good shots but some came out ok. I would estimate the gator to be around 8 feet or so in length. He was much larger than he was months ago for sure.

Water on Mars? Global flood on Mars? Oh, the irony in backwards thinking

Oh the sad and inconsistent and illogical presuppositional positions people cling to today..Oh the irony..

"We have known for decades that water once was abundant on the Martian surface. At one time, there was a northern hemisphere ocean as much as a mile deep. Planetary scientists now agree that there was a global or near-global flood on Mars, where liquid water, if it exists at all, is extremely rare today. Yet these same scientists would scoff at the idea that there once was a global Flood on Earth, a planet awash in water."

Mars Water: Much Ado About Very Little

Beginner’s Guide to being like Jesus Christ

Start with a deep application of these verses first and then rigorously work in Genesis 1:1 through Revelation 22:21.

Rinse and then Repeat!

He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. 1 John 2:6

Be ye followers of me, even as I also [am] of Christ. 1 Corinthians 11:1

For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: 1 Peter 2:21

Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. Ephesians 5:1-2

Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet.  For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.  Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.  If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.  John 13:13-17

For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. Galatians 3:27

That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;  And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;  And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
Romans 8:29 - For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate [to be] conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Ephesians 4:22-24

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.  For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:  That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.  For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.  For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.  Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.  So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.  Romans 8:2-8

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:  Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:  But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:  And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.  Philippians 2:5-8

Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. Matthew 11:29

And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.  For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.  Mar 10:44-45

The Coming One World Religion has been here for some time now...

My bet is on Humanism being the coming one world religion...wait, it's already here.

Paris Reidhead defined Humanism perfectly:

"Christianity says... "The end of all being is the glory of God."
Humanism says, "The end of all being is the happiness of man.""

Drill down into any religion and at the heart of them you will find what men desire for themselves. Ironically enough while some "evangelicals" or other flavors of so-called Christians wait and look for the coming one world religion they have failed to see it that it has been here for some time now...

ATHEISM ON THE RISE

And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? [5] And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months. [6] And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. [7] And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. [8] And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. [9] If any man have an ear, let him hear. Revelation 13:4-9

TAKE THE WORLD, BUT GIVE ME JESUS

Take the world, but give me Jesus,
All its joys are but a name;
But His love abideth ever,
Through eternal years the same.

Oh, the height and depth of mercy!
Oh, the length and breadth of love!
Oh, the fullness of redemption,
Pledge of endless life above!

Take the world, but give me Jesus,
Sweetest comfort of my soul;
With my Savior watching o’er me,
I can sing though billows roll.

Take the world, but give me Jesus,
Let me view His constant smile;
Then throughout my pilgrim journey
Light will cheer me all the while.

Take the world, but give me Jesus.
In His cross my trust shall be,
Till, with clearer, brighter vision,
Face to face my Lord I see.

Christians and Holidays: What about Halloween?

God judges the intentions of our hearts based on what we have understanding or knowledge of in regards to His character.  If I participate in situations or events that are associated with evil things then I know I am sinning due to the conviction that His Spirit has placed in my heart of understanding.

The Bible is filled with example after example of things that we ought to avoid due to conflicts with His Spirit.  We may have liberty yes, but obviously some liberties can be taken that may conflict with His Spirit and will reap consequences.  Especially when it involves participating side by side with evil in a compromise that one feels he has to liberty to exercise in.

Liberty is an entirely separate study and once one looks into the Bible for it's true meaning they will find that we do indeed have the liberty to serve others and to be free from sin. Other than that we do not have the liberty to serve the flesh as this leads to death...

When God says to not do as the heathen do and "abstain from all appearance of evil" (2 Thessalonians 5:22) that includes any sort of compromise to participate in holidays such as Halloween.  If one feels that this thinking is prudish and of a 'party pooper' sort of spirit then that individual does not know the Word of God or is not taking it seriously.  That person may say this is being legalistic but obeying God and walking in His ways is never legalistic.  Walking in His ways has everything to do with abstaining from all appearances of evil.  Remember Jesus did say "If ye love me, keep my commandments" (John 14:15).

I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies.  Amos 5:21

Days can and will be dark and the qualifications to darken these days include pagan festivals.  Halloween falls into this category.  The news came out in the year 2011, when this was written, that Americans will spend more on Halloween than any year prior.  This will include many who call themselves Christian. To participate in it as the heathen do would be pleasing Satan rather than the Lord. Satan loves death and those who don’t love God love death.

Halloween is very much a celebration of the dead.  Folks fixate on and get a rush from everything associated with death.  If you are dressed up as Bible prophet but walk along side a zombie then you are essentially making a statement supporting this obsession with death.  You are saying that participation in this day is ok and thus grieving God.  We have laws that convict the accomplice in regards to their close association to a crime and this falls very much into this realm of logic.

But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.  Proverbs 8:36

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.  Proverbs 18:21

With all of this said what part of this day is glorifying to God?

"It is generally agreed that, in Church history, Halloween took the place of a special day celebrated by the ancient Druids...Unfortunately the Christian Church never truly Christianized Halloween - the Roman Church merely baptized it with its own unique, if unbiblical, beliefs concerning sin, the saints, and purgatory."(John Ankerberg).

Where is the Christian influence today?  If I go out on the streets or attend the parties based on the secular interpretation of the day then how am I being set apart?

A harvest festival held on the same day of Halloween or around that day is seen by many as an alternative but I know of one church that had to discontinue its efforts in doing harvest festivals due to lack of fruit and the inability to prevent evil costumes from attending.  This is just one example of the hold Satan has on this day and on this world.  Any sort of way to "Christianize" this day will fall short of success.  Believers should instead fall to their knees and pray for the souls who think they are safe in their Christianity but are instead cursing God with their outright love and participation in the celebration of death.

Some may say these are harsh words but I am just stating what the Bible had recorded within it far before I ever came along.  My thinking here is far from original but it is very Biblical. Essentially before it was ever my opinion it was God's Word.

To close I will share a few more versus related to conduct in this world as believers:

Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. Romans 12:9

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil.  1 Thessalonians 5:21-22

Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.  3 John 1:11

Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.  And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.  But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.  Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.  Ephesians 5:1, 8-16.

And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.  Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,  And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.  2 Corinthians 6:16-18

Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.  Jeremiah 10:2

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,  Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,  Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,  Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.  Galatians 5:19-23

But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.  Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.  Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?  1 Corinthians 10:20-22

This is the one verse that definitively states that Halloween is evil and something that God abhors.  I did not lead with this as I often do but saved it for later to emphasize the message.

When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.  There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,  Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.  For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.  Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God.  Deuteronomy 18:10-13

God hated the things associated with this day in the Old Testament times and He still detests them to this day.  I cannot be set apart for the sake of the Gospel by walking side by side with things that represent the darkness.  I can be set apart by taking a stand and boldly stating to all what is right and what is wrong on that day but then I would ruin the day for many and would be labeled a closed minded ignorant individual.  Or I could just participate and have fun.  I chose to pray for the lost souls during this day.

Every tradition and holiday ought to be examined as such.

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil.  1 Thessalonians 5:21-22
