In the Bible that is called being "willingly ignorant" or in the Greek (thanks Kent Hovind) we know it to mean "dumb on purpose".
I bought "That Their Words May Be Used Against Them" by Dr. Henry Morris (ICR) many years ago and have found it quite useful along with many of the more recent 'foot in the mouth' moments that seem to come out daily from so-called scientists. I highly encourage you to check that book out and do not let the so-called experts fool you with their double talk....
