The B.I.B.L.E. Yes that's the book for me!

There were times while preaching and witnessing on the streets where I had been challenged to meet people "in the middle". Whenever the discussions turned to topics such as Creation and evolution I was asked at times to not reference the Bible but only discuss the "empirical" evidences that were available. The claims of these people in essence were that they felt they could be neutral and so should I and that meant me having to leave the Bible behind.

On occasion I would naively do so only to find myself arguing down many a rabbit trail with the discussions getting further and further away from the Cross.

I learned from experience that I should have always stood on the Bible's position regarding this. That is, my greatest ammunition was, yes, the Bible, God's Word.

Now I never leave it behind or out of any of my conversations.

If my worldview is truly founded on the Bible then I would be foolish to leave the most powerful tool in my arsenal out of any of my conversations.

Among many of the truths in the Bible we have God's law and it is stated to be the only thing perfect in converting the soul. Why would I ever not utilize such great power in the fight?

The Bible states it clearly "The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple" Psalms 19:6.

Peter said that the word of God, the Bible, is a more sure word of prophecy than even the literal voice of God. Peter would know this to be true as he not only heard the voice of God in the flesh, Jesus, but he also heard the literal voice of God on the mount of transfiguration. For those who doubt this claim see Peter’s own words regarding this truth.

Why would we not utilize the very written words of God, the most surest words of prophecy, when we battle against the against principalities, against powers, and against the rulers of the darkness of this world?

For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount. We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.  2 Peter 1:17-21

So with that said why would we ever leave our solid foundation, God's Word, when we go up against the evil strongholds that oppose our Father? We should never go in unarmed when we have the ultimate arsenal ever...

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;  And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled. 2 Corinthians 10:3-6 KJV

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God  Ephesians 6:10-17 KJV
