This man's life was consistently one that glorified sin. On occasion he would dash in a bit of gospel music and flowery quotes such as shown in this meme but just like rat poison and leaven, it may be 99 percent good food it is the one percent that is the poison that spoils the whole lump...in this man's case he is more on the poison side than good. You cannot have both and expect to be in a right standing with God...
