Each day is a gift from you
Every hour, minute, some are few.
You try to guide me, prepare the way
I’m often stubborn, won’t obey.
Why, Oh, Lord, when you love me so
Do I drag my feet, be slow to grow?
Jesus, help me to more faithful be
Open my eyes, so I may see.
An honest friend you are to me;
You stand and wait so patiently.
I fumble through my daily life,
Sometimes I give myself such strife.
Help me learn to lean on you-
No matter what each day I do.
When things go wrong I know that you
Will provide a way to live it through.
