Have you forgotten how holy God is?

But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

1 Peter 1:15-16

If we spent more time focusing on the holiness of God and how we can fully submit to Him than we do justifying any level of sin then we would be in a much better place.

The church has forgotten how holy God really is.

Because the church has either forgotten or greatly watered down the holiness of God it has thus either forgotten or watered down the fact that freedom in Christ is truly freedom. Freedom in Christ means that we are not in a continual bondage to sin. If you are then there is a serious problem on your end. Truthfully many do not see their bondage to sin as a problem as they choose to continue on in it so that God's grace may abound. God's word said that we ought not have this mindset! See Romans 6:1, etc...

All throughout scriptures we see that we are freed from the bondage of sin and renewed unto God in order to walk after His Holiness but many have no clue what that means because the church has failed to spur them on towards this end.

It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God and many have missed that point entirely.

---------------------------------------------

There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside thee: neither [is there] any rock like our God.

1 Samuel 2:2

---------------------------------------------

For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

Isaiah 57:15

---------------------------------------------

Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I the LORD your God am holy.

Leviticus 19:2

---------------------------------------------

O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.

Psalm 96:9

---------------------------------------------

And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.

Isaiah 6:3

---------------------------------------------

According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love

Ephesians 1:4

---------------------------------------------

Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.

It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Hebrews 10:29-31
