I do not carry the scars...

After pushing several hundreds of staples into the Gospel of John and Roman booklets that we are preparing to send overseas to folks in order to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ I noticed that my wrists and palms were getting pretty sore.

Then it dawned on me.

This is an awesome example that we cannot save ourselves.

While doing this work no doubt brings great joy to our Father in heaven it certainly is not the work that saves me.

Even though there is pain in my wrists and hands, this pain does not save me either.

When I look at my hands I realize the pain is really quite insignificant as I find that there are no marks. No scars or cuts can be seen.

When we get to heaven and look at Jesus' hands we will definitely see the scars that tell of how salvation is truly earned.

It was through the nails that were driven through His hands and onto the cross where He hung and died. That is where salvation was provided for me.

We do not serve Him to win His grace or to save our souls.

We serve Him because He is worthy.

But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 2:4-10

After doing this over and over again it does get a bit sore!

Look! No scars!
