Stay out from under the tree...

Sin entered into the world under the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Sin was then conquered upon that cursed tree on that wonderful day that the Psalmist looked forward to as “the day that the Lord hath made”.

With this said, why would anyone spend any time at all under a tree and upon their knees?

We should be on our knees praising our Lord Jesus Christ for dying for our sins, not groveling for material things.

He came to die once for our sins and He will be coming again, perhaps soon. Hopefully He will not find us under a tree again when He comes the second time.

Let us not get carried away with vain traditions while trying to disguise them as Christian. God spoke through the prophet Haggai that one cannot take something that is unclean and call it clean just because they want to think it is.

We are also told to prove all things and to abstain from all appearances of evil. We are told to not compromise with the world. Let us hold fast to that which is good and stay on the old paths. There is a good reason why there was absolutely no mention of celebrating Christmas in the first three hundred years after Christ ascended up into heaven. They knew that it was something that they should not be doing...

But...the doubter will argue...why would most of all professing Christians celebrate it if it were not ok? Great question, what does the Bible say about it? Silence comes those who diligently search the scriptures for this answer. In logic, it is a fallacy to plead to the majority as a factual proof. In the Bible it was always the "few there be that find it" and the "remnant". The majority is not always right, especially from a Biblical perspective and especially when it comes to spiritual truths.

Lets dig into some key scriptures. The best way to maintain contextual integrity though is to read the Bible in it's entirety and then you will get a clear picture of what is correct on this issue.

And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. Genesis 2:16-17

And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; Genesis 3:17 KJV

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: Galatians 3:13 KJV

I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation. The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. This is the LORD'S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes. This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:21-24

So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. Hebrews 9:28

For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: [24] And when he had given thanks, he brake it , and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. [25] After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it , in remembrance of me. [26] For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 KJV

Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ask now the priests concerning the law, saying, If one bear holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and with his skirt do touch bread, or pottage, or wine, or oil, or any meat, shall it be holy? And the priests answered and said, No. Then said Haggai, If one that is unclean by a dead body touch any of these, shall it be unclean? And the priests answered and said, It shall be unclean. Then answered Haggai, and said, So is this people, and so is this nation before me, saith the LORD; and so is every work of their hands; and that which they offer there is unclean. Haggai 2:11-14

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil. 1 Thessalonians 5:21-22

Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. Ephesians 5:10-11

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:1-2

For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. [4] They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. [5] They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good. Jeremiah 10:3-5 KJV

Most try to defend the above scripture (Jeremiah 10:3-5) as being not about a Christmas tree and I agree but it is about much more, including the Christmas tree. Idols come in all forms and even ideas. The context though is really about not doing the vain customs of the heathen. This falls in line with much of the Bible where it constantly warns the children of God to not do as the heathen do.

If you are participating in a tradition in ways that even the heathen do then you should seriously pray and search the scriptures to see if it is something you should be doing.

It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Hebrews 10:31

Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. James 4:4

Question for my Social Media friends out there in cyberspace. If I do not celebrate Christmas does that make me in any way less of a Christian than I could be or should be?

Is Christmas a mandatory high holy day for the Christian? If so what Bible verses support this doctrine?
Does not celebrating Christmas make me any less a citizen of the world you live in or for that matter does it make me less of an American somehow?
As a Christian why should I celebrate Christmas? Please provide verses that I can use towards this end.

Prove all things...every step, every moment of your day and throughout life...

Is whatever you are doing what you want to do or are you trusting in God and ensuring that you are doing  what God has purposed and approved?  Dig deep on everything you do, traditions, etc and sincerely ask yourself am I doing this because I want to or is it something that God wants and that pleases Him...

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. [6] In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. [22] Abstain from all appearance of evil. 1 Thessalonians 5:21-22 KJV

Ephesians 5:10 KJV
Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. [2] And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:1-2 KJV

Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 2:5 KJV

Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. [13] For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Philippians 2:12-13 KJV

Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. Revelation 4:11 KJV

Argumentum ad populum, stop it already and come to the table with some scriptures...For instance regarding OSAS...

My son was frustrated the other day when someone accused him for being wrong on the subject of OSAS (Once saved, always saved). Instead of providing any actually facts in the form of supporting verses this person instead plead to the false premise that since the majority accepts it then it must be true.

This is a logical fallacy called argumentum ad poplum and it does not carry any true weight in an argument. The bulk of the world was once accepting that the earth was flat and that blood letting was the proper way to rid the body of disease due to the majority believing these things.

Do we need to follow in the footsteps of the foolish or trust in God's Word?

Many people are doing this today without first studying it thoroughly on their own.

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth" (1 Timothy 2:15).

Christians need to stop doing this and stand within their own faith and study for themselves what the word of God actually says instead of being spoon fed the nonsense that they get from the pulpit.

Here is my coming to the discussion with scriptures.

OSAS? How does this following passage fit into this current, modern day doctrine?

Round peg, square hole...

And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.  But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.  Matthew 8:11-12

Context is this, the children of the kingdom are thus within the kingdom but have now found themselves cast into outer darkness (Hell). OSAS states that once in the kingdom you cannot be removed or leave.

I suppose that any response to this will include some serious contextual acrobatics that I had been guilty of for most of my life.

More:

There are little to no church fathers that held to the concept of eternal security or preservation of the saints prior to Calvin, expect perhaps Augustine, who should never be consulted upon regarding scriptural truths in my opinion. Remember that man is not the final say in this. The Bible, God’s Word is the final authority on the matter. One must first come to terms with these verses within context and without the typical “theological gymnastics” to get around these. Typically they are just avoided or passed along as not being literal, etc.

One cannot fall from something if he were not first in it...

Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.  Galatians 5:4

One cannot depart from someone if they were never with them.

Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. Hebrews 3:12

And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold.   Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin—; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.   And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book Exodus 32:31-33

To add emphasis to this God repeated this concept once again at the end of the Bible. You cannot blot out something from a book if was not in the book in the first place. This is the clear context not trick grammar...

He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. Revelation 3:5

A branch cannot be cast forth (away from the vine) if it was never attached in the first place.

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.  If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.  John 15:5-6

These next verses in Hebrews chapters 6 and 10 tend to drive people either mad or into hyper-dispensationalism. Either way you must consider them with much prayer and fasting as they are difficult for sure. Read the Bible cover to cover in a month’s time and with deep prayer you will see the end to end context much more clearer than anyone can deliver it from a pulpit...Let the Holy Spirit guide you on these and not men. I will not even put my two cents in here as this is a matter of the heart and spirit for the individual reader.

For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,  And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,  If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.  Hebrews 6:4-6

For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. Hebrew 10:26-27

You cannot be a castaway from something you were not a part of in the first place. Paul was a believer and alluded to the potential of him being a castaway...

Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.   And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:  But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.  1 Corinthians 924-27

You cannot depart from something you were not in in the first place...

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;  1 Timothy 4:1

Same idea here, if you continue in the faith grounded and settled you will not be moved away from the hope of the gospel. Not as strong in language but it dose support the idea that people can choose to walk away and leave the faith they were once in.

And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled  In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:  If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;  Colossians 1:21-23

Some people try to explain this away via dispensational thinking but God is the same yesterday, today and forever. His Spirit can be taken and King David was well aware of it when he prayed in Psalm 51 for God not to take it away from him.

And the Spirit of the LORD will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man. And it was so, that when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, God gave him another heart: and all those signs came to pass that day. It repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto the LORD all night. 1 Samuel 10:6, 9

But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him.   1 Samuel 16:14

And when Saul enquired of the LORD, the LORD answered him not, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets.  1 Samuel 28:6

The righteous here and elsewhere in the Bible, when in this context, refers to a saved soul...also, the death here is a spiritual death, not a physical like some try to state...you will also find a repeat of this in chapter 33 which adds to the emphasis that God has intended for us. We ought not miss this concept.

Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.  Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.  Ezekiel 3:20-21

You must realize what Peter is saying here. A believer going to heaven is not going experience something worse in heaven than what they were destined for and experiencing prior to coming to Christ...This is in line with what the writer of Hebrews was talking about in chapters 6 and 10.

For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known [it], to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog [is] turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire. 2 Peter 2: 20-22

Today we see many accepted doctrines that the first century true church up to the time of Constantine did not accept. The remnant continued to hold to the biblical doctrines as passed to them from Christ through the Apostles and they still do through today. As usual the majority mocks and persecutes them for holding fast to the true doctrines of Christ.

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. 2 Peter 2:1

Not of works as only the blood shed by Jesus on the cross can save a repentant heart but we must not ever take our salvation for granted.

Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.   Philippians 2:12

Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.  And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;  And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;  And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.  For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.  But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.  Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:  For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.   2 Peter 1:1-11

Again, the context states that "If you do these things, ye shall never fall". This dictates that if you do not do these things you will.

And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. 2 Peter 1:7-11

Pulpit (Pull Pit)

The typical “Christian” pulpit (pull pit) today is Satan’s tool to pull people towards the pit of hell.

“We are preaching an acceptable gospel today, making it as painless as we can. All we do is give people a shot to put them to sleep so they’ll get to hell quicker. We need some hell fire preaching on repentance.” – Leonard Ravenhill

“The motto of all true servants of God must be, ‘We preach Christ; and him crucified.’ A sermon without Christ in it is like a loaf of bread without any flour in it. No Christ in your sermon, sir? Then go home, and never preach again until you have something worth preaching.” – Charles Spurgeon

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Matthew 7:15

“Where there is nothing of Christ, brethren, there is nothing of unction, nothing of savor, and a man is quite right not to attend such a ministry as that. Leave Christ out of your preaching, and you have taken the milk from the children, you have taken the strong meat from the men; but if your object as a teacher or preacher is to glorify Christ, and to lead men to love him and trust him, why, that is the very work upon which the heart of God himself is set. The Lord and you are pulling together.”- Charles Spurgeon

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers. This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them. Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father. John 10:1-18

“Christ not only supplies the necessities of his people, but he gives them abundant and superabundant joy in the luxuries of his grace. You do not really preach the gospel if you leave Christ out; if he be omitted, it is not the gospel. You may invite men to listen to your message, but you are only inviting them to gaze upon an empty table unless Christ is the very center and substance of all that you set before them.” – Charles Spurgeon

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. 2 Corinthians 11:13-15

“Sooner by far would I go to a bare table, and eat from a wooden porringer something that would appease my appetite, than I would go to a well-spread table on which there was nothing to eat. Yes, it is Christ, Christ, Christ whom we have to preach; and if we leave him out, we leave out the very soul of the gospel. Christless sermons make merriment for hell. Christless preachers, Christless Sunday school teachers, Christless class leaders, Christless tract distributors—what are all these doing? They are simply setting the mill to grind without putting any grist into the hopper. All their labor is in vain. If you leave Jesus Christ out, you are simply beating the air, or going to war without any weapon with which you can smite the foe.” – Charles Spurgeon

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. 2 Peter 2:1-3

“Leave Christ out? O my brethren, better leave the pulpit out altogether. If a man can preach one sermon without mentioning Christ’s name in it, it ought to be his last, certainly the last that any Christian ought to go to hear him preach.” – Charles Spurgeon

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 1 John 4:1

Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Matthew 24:23-24

“I know one who said I was always on the old string, and he would come and hear me no more; but if I preached a sermon without Christ in it, he would come. Ah, he will never come while this tongue moves, for a sermon without Christ in it—a Christless sermon! A brook without water; a cloud without rain; a well which mocks the traveler; a tree twice dead, plucked up by the root; a sky without a sun; a night without a star. It were a realm of death—a place of mourning for angels and laughter for devils. O Christian, we must have Christ! Do see to it that every day when you wake you give a fresh savor of Christ upon you by contemplating his person. Live all the day, trying as much as lieth in you, to season your hearts with him, and then at night, lie down with him upon your tongue.” – Charles Spurgeon

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Matthew 7:21-23

“We have too many preacherettes preaching too many sermonettes to too many Christianettes smoking cigarettes.” – Leonard Ravenhill

Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. 2 Timothy 4:2-5

“You can't preach about the Holy Ghost unless you have the Holy Ghost!” – Leonard Ravenhill

For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. Revelation 22:18-19

I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. Galatians 1:6-11

Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds. 2 John 1:9-11

Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you. Deuteronomy 4:2

What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it. Deuteronomy 12:32

That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive…Ephesians 4:14

This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare; Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck: Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme. 1 Timothy 1:18-29

But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some. 2 Timothy 2:16-18

Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers. For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake. One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies. This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith; Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth. Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate. Titus 1:9-16

Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein. Hebrews 13:9

Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. 2 Peter 3:14-18

Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple. Romans 16:17-18

Sinless perfection, the Biblical perspective...

"You say I'm preaching sinless perfection. You say, "Well, do you think you can get to a place where you can't sin?" I know nothing of the kind. It is not impossible (for a Christian) to sin, but it's possible not to commit sin." - Leonard Ravenhill

The church has succumbed to and has adopted pieces of the humanist worldview. They have compromised "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God"(Romans 3:23) by extending the context to the future tense when it is clearly past tense.

It is not to say that a Christian cannot sin only that it is possible to not sin.

Humanism states we are just humans and will mess up...

Christianity states that a true believer is a new creature and can do all things through Christ!

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Philippians 4:13

To say anything less of this has Jesus telling people to do the impossible when He said several times to folks to go and sin no more.

Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee. John 5:14

She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. John 8:11

To say anything less of this is to say that God cannot work this through His children.

..."with God all things are possible." Matthew 19:26

"...all things are possible to him that believeth." Mark 9:23

And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible. Mark 10:27

And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt. Mark 14:36

And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God. Luke 18:27

The Biblical bottom line is this, we can wake up in the morning, give our day to God and submit to His will and with His strength move forward throughout the day without sinning. Should we stumble His grace is there to pick us up if we truly repent. God's grace and strength are awesome!

FALSE teacher, a wolf in sheep's clothing.

I saw this book and and was not surprised but I was appalled.

I read the title to my 9 year old son and asked him what he thought the book would be about. He said God, because He is the I Am that I Am, the great I Am.

I read to him the back cover of the book that described what the book was really about and he and the rest of  my family were disgusted. It is a book about self and not about God.

Sad as always from this wolf in sheep's clothing.

And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. Exodus 3:14

Those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart...

Good article (see link below or click here) but it missed one:

“And so one of the things I’m always concerned about is cynicism. My Chief of Staff, Denis McDonough -- we take walks around the South Lawn, usually when the weather is good, and a lot of it is policy talk, sometimes it’s just talk about values. And one of our favorite sayings is, our job is to guard against cynicism, particularly in this town. And I think it’s important when it comes to dealing with issues of poverty for us to guard againstcynicism, and not buy the idea that the poor will always be with us and there’s nothing we can do -- because there’s a lot we can do. The question is do we have the political will, the communal will to do something about it.” – BHO (see: https://www.whitehouse.gov/…/remarks-president-conversation… )

“For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.” – Jesus Christ (see Matthew 26:11 see: https://www.blueletterbible.org/kjv/mat/26/1/s_955001 )

Let’s check the score…”… let God be true, but every man a liar…”.

God = 1
BHO = 0

God wins again

But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. Matthew 15:18

40 MIND-BLOWING QUOTES FROM BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA ON ISLAM AND CHRISTIANITY

Being a kind, emperor, or president is mighty small potatoes compared to being a mother...

I fully agree with Billy here. Paula Hicks, my wife and mother of our children, will be in God’s Hall of Fame as one of these godly women!

"Being a kind, emperor, or president is mighty small potatoes compared to being a mother. Commanding an army is little more than sweeping a street compared with training a boy or girl. The mother of Moses did more for the world than all the kinds that Egypt ever had. Oh, you wait until you reach the mountains of eternity, then read the mothers' names in God's Hall of Fame". – Billy Sunday

Kiss the Son not the devil…

So the band that was playing at the Paris concert that was attacked played their song "Kiss the Devil" just prior to the attack.

The official band’s statement released via their social media accounts: "… we are horrified and still trying to come to terms with what happened in France….Although bonded in grief with the victims, the fans, the families, the citizens of Paris, and all those affected by terrorism, we are proud to stand together, with our new family, now united by a common goal of love and compassion. We would like to thank the French police, the FBI, the U.S. and French State Departments, and especially all those at ground zero with us who helped each other as best they could during this unimaginable ordeal, proving once again that love overshadows evil. "

They encourage people to kiss the devil and then claim that love is overshadowing evil?

Isaiah said this about that kind of backwards logic: “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil” Isaiah 5:20.

You are to resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7) not kiss him.

You are to kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him (Psalm 2:12).

He came with a sword...

Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man's foes shall be they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it. Matthew 10:34-39

Verses that tend to be avoided or drive people away…don’t let that happen to you…

He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him. Proverbs 18:13

God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day. Psalm 7:11

The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity. Psalm 5:5

These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren. Proverbs 6:16-19

Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. John 7:24

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Matthew 7:14

So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Revelation 3:16

Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. James 4:2-4

EN'MITY, noun
1. The quality of being an enemy; the opposite of friendship; ill will; hatred; unfriendly dispositions; malevolence. It expresses more than aversion and less than malice, and differs from displeasure in denoting a fixed or rooted hatred, whereas displeasure is more transient.
2. A state of opposition.

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil. 1 Thessalonians 5:21-22

Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever. These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum. Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it? When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you? What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before? It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him. And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father. From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. John 6:53-66

This very thing is continuing through today where people walk away from God when hard sayings are presented to them.

It is ALL or none

We must forsake ALL…

…whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple. Luke 14:33

We must with ALL our heart trust God and in ALL our ways acknowledge Him…

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5-6

We must love the Lord our God with ALL our heart, soul and mind…

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. Matthew 22:37

We must prove ALL things and abstain from ALL appearance of evil…

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.  Abstain from all appearance of evil. 1 Thessalonians 5:21-22

Sad the typical church today along with the world would call someone who does this a fanatic yet God says “Well done, thou good and faithful servant”…

That fat guy in red ought to be a concern for any Christian...

Santa is an anagram for Satan.

AN'AGRAM, noun [Gr. a letter.]A transposition of the letters of a name, by which a new word is formed. Thus Galenus becomes angelus; William Noy, (attorney general to Charles I., a laborious man, ) may be turned into I moyl in law.

Not ironic but perhaps purposed...

Consider that he is supposedly in all places at the same time essentially in order to deliver to every person on the eve prior to the day. This would say that he is omnipresent which only God can be.

Consider that he is supposedly omniscient as he would have to be to know if everyone is ether good or bad. Only God can have this attribute.

Any imitation as such, per Biblical standards, qualifies Santa (Satan) as anti-christ.  This is not IMHO but biblical opinion really.

Crazy how we have embraced these traditions despite what Jesus said about traditions of men and that Paul wrote that we are to "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil."(1 Thessalonians 5:21-22 ...

Sorry, anytime I see the fat guy in red it gets me fired up and it should for any Christian who knows the Word of God....

Christian preacher punched for preaching the truth

Christian Preacher Punched at Black Lives Matter Protest at Mizzou

Please forgive the heathen's profane language in this but this is good example of man's war against God and their willful disregard to His Word and truths.

Try not to judge the method of delivery as it differs in no way from the way the men of the Bible did it.

Stephen was bold and in the face of the heathen before they gnashed on him with their teeh…and…stoned him.  Stephen did not mince words and even called them what they were, stiffnecked, uncircumcised in the heart and ears murderers. God blessed this message and was rewarded with the boldness and death of His saint. We should not frown upon nor discourage in any way those that are doing this today.

Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye. Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers: Who have received the law by the disposition of angels, and have not kept it. When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth. But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God. Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord, And cast him out of the city, and stoned him: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man's feet, whose name was Saul. And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep. Acts 7:51-60

Peter called out the men of his day boldly as well. He plainly accused them of murdering the messiah. This ought to be preached today as well.

And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk? The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go. But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you; And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses. And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. And now, brethren, I wot that through ignorance ye did it, as did also your rulers. Acts 3:12-17

Jonah was literally a hell-fire preacher in the fullest sense of what hell-fire preaching is. He was angry with the Ninevite people and he was also angry with God. He was angry with the people because of their sins and their rebellion towards God. It is ironic that he was also rebellious towards God as he resisted in obeying God. Jonah was told by God to go and warn the people that they were going to be destroyed for their sins. Jonah not doubt knew that if he did this there was the chance that the people would repent and turn to God. He knew that God is a God of mercy and grace and if the people repented and turned away from their sins and turned back to Him then He would forgive them.
Jonah, after much convincing (storms, whale, etc…), finally went and did what he was told to do. He did only the bare minimum of what God commanded of him. He told the people that God was going to destroy them for their sins. He said nothing about God’s saving grace if the people were to repent. He wanted to see God follow through with destroying this wicked people. He did not want to leave open any chance for the people to escape the coming judgment. Sad but some people are like Jonah in this regards today…
Much to Jonah’s disappointment the people knew in their hearts what they should do. The people, without being told to do so, repented and turned from their sins and turned back to God. The result of their repentance was forgiveness and God spared them His wrath.
But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.  Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?  And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.  Jonah 3:8-10

Jesus, God in the flesh, preached very offensively…Jesus not only continued delivering the hard messages despite people walking away but he elevated His message to such an offensive level that the world could not stand it any longer. They killed Him on the cross with hopes to silence Him.

Now it is our turn to carry the message of Jesus. His sacrifice on that cross should be motivation enough for us. His victory over the grave ought to be more than enough for us to work diligently to convince others how awesome our God is. That He would humble Himself and made Himself to be a man with the same blood, bone, tissue and nerves that we have and He walked amongst us and eventually died on that cross for our sins. All of this was on premeditated terms none-the-less. This was His purpose from the beginning, to reconcile us back to Him.

Here is the example mentioned above of what happened after Jesus preached the hard and offensive message:

John 6:60-66 Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?
61   When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you?
62   What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before?
63   It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
64   But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.
65   And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.
66   From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

It is not too much of a coincidence that it is chapter 6 verse 66, the number of man 666, where we read about the disciples that gave up on Jesus because they did not like His message.

Current events and the lack of soul saving desire seen from Christians in Social Media

Seems like we are more focused on killing the enemy verses looking for ways to save their souls.
From the looks of what is being pushed out onto social media and especially the blood thirsty comments from Christians there I can only say we, as a country, are far from being close to being a Christian nation.

I understand the need to stop the enemy from killing others and am not at all against defending the defenseless, etc. but our so-called Christian rooted country seems to be more chomping at the bit to kill em all verses any rhetoric at all towards saving souls.

Christians, it would be nice to hear that you are concerned for their souls before you go over there and rip their heads off.

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.
Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

Matthew 5:3-25, 38-39

Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
And of some have compassion, making a difference:
And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen. Jude 21-25

Keep what in Christmas? Are we being spiritually and intellectually honest here?

What's that popular mantra these days? Something like "Keep the Mass in Christmas", or did we miss that part on purpose?

This is only part of why I do not celebrate Christmas. Hear me out please before jumping to conclusions...

He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him. Proverbs 18:13

"Christmas" is a compound word originating in the term "Christ's Mass". It is derived from the Middle English Cristemasse, which is from Old English CrÄ«stesmæsse...  CrÄ«st... is from Greek KhrÄ«stos...and mæsse is from Latin missa, the celebration of the Eucharist...(Wikipedia via other sources).

More on the etymology of the word itself:

Christmas (n.)  late Old English Cristes mæsse, from Christ (and retaining the original vowel sound) + mass (n.2). Written as one word from mid-14c. As a verb from 1590s. Father Christmas first attested in a carol attributed to Richard Smart, Rector of Plymtree (Devon) from 1435-77. http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?term=Christmas

Christmas comes from the Old English words Cristes moesse, 'the mass or festival of Christ'. The first celebration took place in Rome about the middle of the fourth century. http://dictionary.reference.com/help/faq/language/e05.html

I am reposting this due with the hopes of getting people to think deeper on these things. The Bible says to “Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.  Abstain from all appearance of evil”.  1 Thessalonians  5:21-22

This irony of the day is that it is truly materialistically and emotionally focused but it is traditionally disguised and thus excused as the celebration of the birth of Jesus.

The mass part of the word originates from the celebration of the Eucharist which is the extra-biblical Catholic celebration of the supposed actual body and blood of Jesus appearing (transubstantiation) in the ritual called ‘mass’.

Herein lies more irony. A word that is catholic in etymology is embraced by the Protestants and evangelicals who adamantly insist on keeping the ‘Christ’ in Christmas but somehow excuse any attention to be given to the ‘mass’ part of the equation.

The irony goes even deeper and more sinister still.

The Bible tells us through Paul’s writing that the correct use of the bread and wine was that we were to symbolically use these to remind us of what Jesus did for us to be saved and to do so until Jesus returns. It is quite interesting that we are specifically told to remember his death until he comes again but no where are we told to celebrate his birth. If we are honest about it and call it what it is, it as a compromise alongside the world’s materialistic and emotional day of so-called giving (yet the getting is why most do it, I was there once myself...).

In short, Christmas is a word that denotes the celebration of the Death of Jesus in the pure make up of the word itself yet somehow we have, through the traditions of man, twisted it in order to excuse the celebration of the day where many a Christian find themselves on their knees in front of a tree excited about what material surprise will come forth.  All this with Satan Clause (anagram intended) cheering us on. Santa Clause is technically an anti-Christ as he is given the attributes of omniscience (he knows if you’ve been bad or good) and omnipresence (he gets to everyone’s house in one night, essentially you would have be everywhere at the same time to do that or at least somewhere in that ballpark). These attributes as any Christian should know are only possessed by God himself and even to pretend to give these to someone or something else is what the apostle John and the entirety of the council of God (Bible) tells us is the spirit of the anti-christ is (against God, false god, false christ, image of a god or something close, etc).

I have arrived at an honest conclusion for myself that this day is a compromise for me as a Christian to partake in. I have no Biblical command or encouragement to celebrate it but I do have the specific command to remember the death of Jesus. My Saviour was born for the sole purpose of dying for my sins. I am thankful He was born but more importantly I am forever grateful to be saved through His death. I choose not to detract in any way from that focus.

So the way most today approach the so-called defense of their right to celebrate this day is both spiritually and intellectually dishonest. Logic dictates a fair look at this, if you are a believer in the death and resurrection of Christ and understand the intense severity of what He did for us on the cross some two thousand so years ago then it does matter...

For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:
And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.  1 Corinthians 11:23-26

Sad but true...

This picture is sad but true.

The system creates moderately average workers by design who cannot critically think.

The President of the University I went to back in the mid-2000's said something along the lines of this at our commencement ceremony: "we have taken these young men and women and turned them into critical thinkers".

A couple of things come to mind on this. Why did they not come to the University already with the ability to critically think and did you really turn them into critical thinkers?

As a product of both lower and higher education I learned that neither have really created any critical thinkers.

As long as evolution is pushed these individuals will, for the most part, live out their lives with world views that lack any answers with substantive logical backing.

Logic cannot be explained by evolution.

Only the Christian worldview has a logically sound answer as to where logic originated and for it's proper application.

Don't be an illogical fool...

The fool hath said in his heart, [There is] no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, [there is] none that doeth good. Psalm 14:1 KJV

Noise in the Camp - Tim Fisher

Highly recommend this to every believer out there...

Noise in the Camp by Tim Fisher

Exodus 32

1  And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.
2  And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me.
3  And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron.
4  And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
5  And when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made proclamation, and said, To morrow is a feast to the LORD.
6  And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play.
7  And the LORD said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves:
8  They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
9  And the LORD said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people:
10  Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation.
11  And Moses besought the LORD his God, and said, LORD, why doth thy wrath wax hot against thy people, which thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power, and with a mighty hand?
12  Wherefore should the Egyptians speak, and say, For mischief did he bring them out, to slay them in the mountains, and to consume them from the face of the earth? Turn from thy fierce wrath, and repent of this evil against thy people.
13  Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou swarest by thine own self, and saidst unto them, I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your seed, and they shall inherit it for ever.
14  And the LORD repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people.
15  And Moses turned, and went down from the mount, and the two tables of the testimony were in his hand: the tables were written on both their sides; on the one side and on the other were they written.
16  And the tables were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, graven upon the tables.
17  And when Joshua heard the noise of the people as they shouted, he said unto Moses, There is a noise of war in the camp.
18  And he said, It is not the voice of them that shout for mastery, neither is it the voice of them that cry for being overcome: but the noise of them that sing do I hear.
19  And it came to pass, as soon as he came nigh unto the camp, that he saw the calf, and the dancing: and Moses' anger waxed hot, and he cast the tables out of his hands, and brake them beneath the mount.
20  And he took the calf which they had made, and burnt it in the fire, and ground it to powder, and strawed it upon the water, and made the children of Israel drink of it.
21  And Moses said unto Aaron, What did this people unto thee, that thou hast brought so great a sin upon them?
22  And Aaron said, Let not the anger of my lord wax hot: thou knowest the people, that they are set on mischief.
23  For they said unto me, Make us gods, which shall go before us: for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.
24  And I said unto them, Whosoever hath any gold, let them break it off. So they gave it me: then I cast it into the fire, and there came out this calf.
25  And when Moses saw that the people were naked; (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies:)
26  Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the LORD'S side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him.
27  And he said unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Put every man his sword by his side, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbour.
28  And the children of Levi did according to the word of Moses: and there fell of the people that day about three thousand men.
29  For Moses had said, Consecrate yourselves to day to the LORD, even every man upon his son, and upon his brother; that he may bestow upon you a blessing this day.
30  And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses said unto the people, Ye have sinned a great sin: and now I will go up unto the LORD; peradventure I shall make an atonement for your sin.
31  And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold.
32  Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin—; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.
33  And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.
34  Therefore now go, lead the people unto the place of which I have spoken unto thee: behold, mine Angel shall go before thee: nevertheless in the day when I visit I will visit their sin upon them.
35  And the LORD plagued the people, because they made the calf, which Aaron made.

Without Apology the Bible says they are all going to Hell...unless they turn to Jesus Christ...

All Muslims, radical or not, are going to Hell without Jesus Christ.

All Jehovah Witnesses, atheists, humanists, Buddhists, Hindus, etc, etc, are going to Hell without Jesus Christ.

All Catholics, Mormons, Protestants or whatever else someone may call themselves are going to Hell if they have a compromised Jesus Christ. Its the unadulterated Biblical Jesus Christ who must be our Saviour and none other invention, no other version, of the one true Messiah.   When people make Jesus to suit their needs they are making their own god and we were warned from the beginning to not do this.

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6

And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. Genesis 3:4-5

Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me...Exodus 20:3-5

So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests. And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment: And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Matthew 22:10-13

Another parable put he (Jesus) forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is like to a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and sowed in his field: Which indeed is the least of all seeds: but when it is grown, it is the greatest among herbs, and becometh a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in the branches thereof. Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened. All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world. Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field. He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man; The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world. The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind: Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away. So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Matthew 13:31-50

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Matthew 7:13-14

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God... Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. John 3:3, 5-7

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:5-11
