More fallacious OSAS thinking ...

Is King Saul in heaven?

A pastor who teaches Once Saved Always Saved (OSAS, aka the Preservation of the Saints) said this recently:

"I believe we will see Saul in heaven".

No scriptural proof given to support this.

He has to have this position in order to justify his position on OSAS as there are no scriptures to indicate otherwise.

In fact there are scriptures that indicate that King Saul is likely not in heaven...

What we do know:

God gave His  Spirit to Saul:

And the Spirit of the LORD will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man....God gave him another heart: and all those signs came to pass that day. 1 Samuel 10:6 and 9

God then took His Spirit from Saul when Saul purposed to not obey God fully:

But the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the Lord troubled him. 1 Samuel 16:14

David knew that God could absolutely take His Spirit from him as he witnessed this happen in the life of Saul.

King David pleaded to the Lord:

"Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me." Psalm 51:11
