Happy "Character within one's personal life seems to not matter when we choose our heroes" Day!
It seems many today want to prop up folks for whatever stated reason despite gross inconsistencies in these individual's so-called private lives.
First of all, public figures choose to not have private lives, whether they like or not…This is especially more true when it comes to self-professing Christians who choose to have public facing careers in politics and religion (so-called Christian ministry).
Today many are celebrating a man who claimed to be a Christian. This is a man who wrote and said quite bit regarding his doubts of Christ's divinity and much of the core Christian doctrines as well.
This is very ironic to say the least as this behavior carries over to elected officials as well.
It is sad to see such compromised thinking in the self-professing Christian church of today.
Without duplicating efforts this gentleman surmised it accurately and succinctly:
Was Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. A Christian? http://www.jesus-is-lord.com/king.htm
The article avoids talking about King’s immorality in regards to his extra-marital affairs but then it seems most “Christians” today who voted for the next President did exactly the same thing.
Just because we pretend it does not exist by not mentioning it does not negate the fact that it did happen or that it will not happen again.
What a sad world we live in today with so many professing Christians running around applauding individuals who scoff at the Law of the Lord.
