"Yea hath God said?" - Satan

There are so many different versions of the Bible in the English language and they do not all say the same things. In fact in many areas they completely disagree with each other.

It is no wonder that we have so many denominations where professing non-believers cannot find the slightest of common ground.

It is no wonder that in many churches today corporate reading of the Word of God cannot be done out loud due to the members of the congregations carrying so many different versions.

It is no wonder that the world has ample reasons to accurately point out the inconsistencies and hypocrisies in the churches of today.

The different versions indeed do not agree with other. Case in point:

The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever. Psalm 12:6-7 KJV

And the words of the LORD are flawless, like silver purified in a crucible, like gold refined seven times. You, LORD, will keep the needy safe and will protect us forever from the wicked, Psalm 12:6-7 NIV

The words of the LORD are pure words, like silver refined in a furnace on the ground, purified seven times.  You, O LORD, will keep them; you will guard us from this generation forever. Psalm 12:6-7 ESV

What is your favorite flavor when it comes to your choice from amongst all the available English Bibles? Why did you choose the one you chose?
