Choose you this day which Bible you should read, and base your life on…

FYI, The different versions do not say the same things but in different ways.

The law of non-contradiction dictates that if there are two statements that are opposites then only one can be true. They both cannot be true.

For starters, in the new versions such as the NIV and others there some verses completely removed which the KJV has preserved. These cannot say the same thing but in different ways as the fallacious mantra regarding the different versions goes today. If there is nothing there then nothing is being said it’s as simple as that.

As far as verses that contradict each other across the different versions here are but a couple. I do not need to include them all as you should remember that it takes but a little leaven to leaveneth the whole lump…Also, you should do your own “Bible” study on this issue. After all, what is more important than God’s Word? Peter said it is even more powerful than actually hearing the audible voice of God. That is an awesome thought but that is how important God has made His Word.

For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount. We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. 2 Peter 1:17-21

So here are a couple examples to start chewing on. The second one, Psalms 12:6-7, actually speaks about God’s Word specifically in regards to the preservation of it but only in the KJV.

Proverbs 24:11-12:

KJV:
11  If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain;
12  If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?

 NKJV:
11  Deliver those who are drawn toward death, And hold back those stumbling to the slaughter.
12  If you say, "Surely we did not know this," Does not He who weighs the hearts consider it? He who keeps your soul, does He not know it? And will He not render to each man according to his deeds? Proverbs 24:11-12

NIV:
11  Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter.
12  If you say, "But we knew nothing about this," does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who guards your life know it? Will he not repay everyone according to what they have done?

ESV:
11  Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter.
12  If you say, "Behold, we did not know this," does not he who weighs the heart perceive it?  Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it, and will he not repay man according to his work?

Psalms 12:6-7

KJV:

6  The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
7  Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

NIV:

6  And the words of the LORD are flawless, like silver purified in a crucible, like gold refined seven times.
7  You, LORD, will keep the needy safe and will protect us forever from the wicked,

 ESV:

6  The words of the LORD are pure words, like silver refined in a furnace on the ground, purified seven times.
7  You, O LORD, will keep them; you will guard us from this generation forever.

So in an ungodly nutshell what we have today in regards to this so-called version controversy is obvious evidence that man has been falling for Satan’s lie, “yea hath God said?” since Adam first gave into it in the Garden.

If you are going to claim that you study your Bible then be honest about it and study and pray hard as to how it got into your hands and if you are reading the one that God truly preserved as He said He would.
