God does not want Americans,..He wants people to to repent and come to Him...

What I am saying here will no doubt upset people as it did me years ago when I was serving in the US Navy. I was very proud to be an American at that time, rest assured.

I have since realized that as a born again believer I am but living here temporarily. My citizenship is in heaven and no where else. I am here on a mission to save souls. That's what the Father wants so that is what I want.

For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself. Philippians 3:20-21

For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come. Hebrews 13:14

To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,1 Peter 1:4

Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; Ephesians 2:19

We are living in a definite age of apostasy. I was completely blind to this fact until I really started to study God's word and through much prayer I have come to see that I had been living a lie.

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.  2 Timothy 2:15

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. 1 Thessalonians 5:21

You will will either come to terms with the reality of this or you will simply make excuses around it.

Why did the founding fathers of this country go with the generic references of God verses calling upon the name that every knee will bow to, the name above all names, Jesus Christ?

My argument that we are not a Christian nation today is becoming more and more realized by just looking around as our society continues to rebel against the One who died for their sins. I would submit that we may have never really been a true Christian nation. Keep in mind that even the country from which we rebelled against also considered itself to be  "Christian" for the most part. In fact they even had their own state sponsored so-called "Christian" church...

The faith of the few true believers back in the founding days of our country is not openly represented in the actual founding documents. There were some genuine believers during that time no doubt but by their own words two of the prime architects of our country, Franklin and Jefferson, denied that Jesus was the Christ, God in the flesh. The Apostle John, a man who walked with Jesus, stated emphatically otherwise. In fact in John's letters he stated that those whoever denied that Jesus is the Christ is antichrist...

Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.  Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: but he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. 1 John 2:22-23

This was written by Ben Franklin on March 9. 1790. He died a little more than a month later on April 17, 1790 “.... As to Jesus of Nazareth...I have...some Doubts as to his Divinity: tho’ it is a Question I do not dogmatise upon, having never studied it.”

Feel free to check the context as it is intact even in the above abbreviated quote... http://www.worldpolicy.org/sites/default/files/uploaded/image/Franklin-religion.pdf

Thomas Jefferson wrote this on August 4, 1820: “That Jesus did not mean to impose himself on mankind as the son of God, physically speaking, I have been convinced by the writings of men more learned than myself in that lore. But that he might conscientiously believe himself inspired from above, is very possible.” Again, check the context for yourself... http://www.let.rug.nl/usa/presidents/thomas-jefferson/letters-of-thomas-jefferson/jefl261.php

It would be hard for anyone to argue that these two played very major roles in the founding of our country...

My point is this,  God does not want just Americans,..He wants all people to to repent and come to Him, regardless of their earthly citizenship...Your citizenship in America does not make you a Christian as a non-christian country cannot save you, only the blood of Jesus Christ can!

We need to, as true believers, have the same unction and desire, to seek and save the lost while there is still time to do so.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 2 Peter 3:9-10

And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. Jude 22-23
